Bobbobson
Did I overlook something or is it indeed impossible to create MP games with uneven teams? In Battlefield you could simply pit say, 12 bots vs 3 humans to create some challenge. It seems like BFront cannot be played with humans cooperatively against the AI, simply because it can never be any challenge if you get as many bots in your own team as the enemy team has. Iceman_IX
The best challenge would be online multiplayer (human vs. human) but I understand not EVERYONE has broadband.
Evil Dark Jedi
Yeah the best would be Human vs Human. But this can cause lag.
Firemann816
I dont think you can create an uneven team scenario 50 rebs vs 150 Imps for instance
JawaJoey
He's not talking about human vs bots being better than human vs. human. It'd be fun for all the humans to be on one team, playing with eachother, and just computers on the other team, but humans+bots= pwnage, so you'd need way more bots than humans to make it challenging, and apparently that's not possible. Geneysis
I know this is a bit off-thread but..... of the MP servers I have visited they all have bots enabled - is it possible to turn the bots off so that its a pure human game??? As most people go for one faction & bots obviously take the other side - the games tend to be very quick and one sided.
yangyan
lol unfortunatly i joined a server with bots and humans and i had to be forced on a team with the most bots. yes i agree with human+bots=pwnage , although humans vs humans still equals pwnage anyway, and there isnt much teamwork
Alegis
Originally posted by yangyan i had to be forced on a team with the most bots. Incorrect. To answer your question and this quote geneysis, a server can choose how many AI per tteam. Which means that you'll have 16 bots on each time if you choose 16 (they wont appear in the player list). You will never be on a time with lesser or more bots. You'll be forced into a team (if autoassign is on) with the less human players
Kasowitz
There definatly needs to be more Options for Instant Action games....Like setting number of Bots and things like that. Would increase the replay value by 100 fold !!!

Actually it's a challenge still, because all of your AI teammates don't do anything productive. They spend entire rounds mostly dancing around capped flags and shooting at the ground. luck64
lol well them shooting at the ground is a bit much lol, no they arent that bad, but they arent that smart either
Iceman_IX
The AI is decent. They just run towards goals taking vehicles, attacking enemies that get in their way, and utilizing turrets where applicable. They use their secondary weapons well. But, for the most part, they are stupid. On the Rhen Var Harbor map it's hard to beat only because your clone buddies will go through the ice tunnel and walk right into droiddekas mowing them down in droves. Stupid stuff like that happens. You have to be the leader and punch holes in the enemie's forces.
Bobbobson
yes a multitude of options (or in fact at least as many options as non-console games normally have) would make the replay value and longevity of Battlefront much much greater. As it stands now the game won't get old in SP or Coop LAN but I daresay it will stay alive in MP for quite a while. Of course only if the stuff we all hope and expect will be added: - Map editor - adjustable Ticket number - decent framerate

Please allow me to clarify my point. In single-player the enemy AI does all that and more. The teammate bots, on the other hand, are dumb as doorknobs. They run in a general direction of an objective, but god forbid there happen to be two or more objectives in different directions. I've seen Droidekas facing a wall up-close and firing at it continuously. I've seen teammate bots standing on a second level (Bespin map) and shooting the floor, probably "aiming" at whatever was at that direct path had the floor not been there. I've seen Luke spawncamping imperials on Bespin, refusing to come closer to their flag (a few rebel bots were hanging out nearby also). IMHO, the only good thing about teammate bots is that they will give up their seat in any vehicle that you wish to drive or gun for.
