Hey Nick-Less, I don't suppose you play Megaman X: Command Mission, do you?

Because the gun you modeled looks like on of the guns Axl can get. Of course if you don't play it you have no idea what I'm talking about, hehe.

:worship: <- That gives poking people a whole new meaning...

i didnt play no megaman or whatever, and it is all one mesh.

BTW: to apply smoothing you gotta do:

1. Convert the shapes you want to smooth to Mesh/Poly

2. under the "modify" section (the button that looks like a rainbow) press the "Polygon" button (the one that looks like a box, the 2d box not the 3d looking box).

3. Select the Polygons you want to smooth.

4. scroll down till you see a "Surface Properties" Section (while still in polygon mode.

5. then scroll a bit lower till you see a "Smoothing Groups" Group, press the "Auto Smooth" Button.

youre done.

Yeah I figured out how to do it, but I did something different, I just applied a "MeshSmooth" modifier, it smoothed it more, and reduced polys. That method actually added 12 polys.:p

Edit:

And with MeshSmooth It looks nice. :D

The only thing that I could find about that gun is it's either a regular Blaster Rifle, or it was never named.

Here are pics of the closest things to it though...

And remember, it's possible I just couldn't find it.

Actually, Boba Rhett/TK-8252 found the name for me, it's called a DLT-19, thanks guys!

This is probably one of the most important updates for these guns you guys/ladies will see:

These guns are finished!

Well, except for UV and texturing. :D

Remember, I went off of 2-inch plastic remakes, which were very detailed for their size, but may leave out some things.

So, if you remember me talking about MeshSmooth, well, that doesn't work with ResetXForm. :( So, instead of having models with like 300 polygons, the E-11 has about 550, and the DLT-19 is about 950. Still alright, but not as good as before. Oh well.

I plan on making two versions of this mod. One will add them as custom items with uniqe names and descriptions, while the other will make them replace the standard blaster rifle and the standard blaster carbine. The later will be intended for use with Prime and Co. 's Stormtrooper mod, because those are the most common weapons used by Sith Troops IIRC.

Probably won't get to Segmenting > UV Mapping > Texturing these puppies until next weekend, it takes a long time, and tomorrow's the only day I have the time, but I gotta show 3 other guys that in the world of Halo 2, I > Them. :D

Ok, the E-11 is fully UV-ed and skinned! Well sort of. :D We all know my skins suck.

Pic in game.

This one is in Gmax, and it brings up a question. The one on the left is softened, the one on the right isn't, I like the left better, what about you guys?

Funny thing happened when I hit ResetXForm, it scrambled my UV map and texture all over the place, but it gave a pretty interesting skin which I might use for the Sith sniper rifle. :)

Update:

The DLT-19 is finished as well! I decided to go ahead with the 'soft' models, and as for the sniper rifle skin, it isn't happening, Gmax actually won't screw up a project now.

Here are some screenshots of what you will be getting:

Now all I have to do really is set up the Uti's, for custom items and for use with the Stormtrooper mod. Which I'll probably do either tonight or tomorrow.

Pretty sweet Mono! :D

The only distracting thing I could see from the screenies, and it could just be the screenshot the game made, is the Sith Trooper seem's to be carrying the rifle a little oddly. It looks as to be floating above his hands.

But all the PC/NPC's using the weapons looked spot on, and that is probably more important anyway! ;)

Nice work on those models Mono, very nice work! :D

dude those are sweet, i know its not your problem but i really do hate the fact that when a NPC / PC holds a weapon its preset to that particular weapon, so theres a 'gap' where the person holds the weapon :( but its not your fault,

(Look at the Sith Troopers hands)

Gr8 Weapons, i may think about reverting to blasters instead of Sabres......NAH! :p Sweet weaponry

Answering 1 at a time. :)

RedHawke/MattCole : I've got two mods in the works, one were YOU get them, and one for use with the stormtrooper mod. The picture you two are referring to is meant to go with the stormtrooper mod, I just didn't have it installed at the time.

If you check the link in one of my above posts, it shows the untextured gun in a stormtrooper's hand, and it looks fine. So, if you have both mods installed as was intended, no conflicts. :)

The5ID : I originally thought to just have them through cheats or replace weapons ingame already (with the stormtrooper mod). I've decided that I will make two version of the mod as I have said, one for the Stormtrooper mod (They will replace existing weapons) and one for PC/NPC use, and I have decided that I'll make the attempt to add an NPC into some module who will sell you the guns. But that may belay the release.

And as for textures, yes, they are textured, but the textures SUCK. I tried to make the models complex enough so that putting a solid skin on would still look alright, 'cause that's pretty much what you're seeing. I am in no way a skinner. :p

Oh and one more thing, I went with kampher's suggestion, the big gun is just the T-21 now, thanks kampher.
