****. No unions?

WTF? Work 90 hours, get paid for 40. WTF.

I know there are bad jobs, but this is over the top. ****!

Read this: http://www.livejournal.com/users/ea_spouse/

It's abut EA. Read the whole thing anyway. EA's management SUXORZ. Sounds like LucasArts. And in the comments to the article, you can read the game dev busniness is generally bad. Get paid ****, and unhealthy work hours.

Technically, if you're getting screwed by your job and you're not with a unioin, you can get a friend who is in the union to represent you on such matters and talk to your boss. Of course, if you have no case (and people rarely do I'm afraid) you're screwed with interest.

> Sounds like LucasArts.

With all due respect, I've NEVER heard any ex-LucasArts employee or associate of an ex-LucasArts emplyee ever complain about the working conditions there.

Yes, the layoffs at LucasArts were saddening, and no-one likes losing their job, but game cancellations and team layoffs are not anywhere near in the same league as ongoing employee abuse as claimed in that ea_spouse blog.

I meant this part: "EA's management SUXORZ. Sounds like LucasArts."

That LEC's management suxorz too. Like 'not being able' to make FT2 and Sam and Max 2.

Also, iNSANE Jim Ward memmo. It was crap talk. If I wanna diss my staff and make them feel uncomfortable, and think I am a total jerk, I would write such a memmo. I didnt see "I love you guys" in there anywhere. He should get better memmo-skillz. Atleast fool your staff that you love them. To say "I dont care who you are, I'm your new ruler. No xmas bonus! Work harder! I wanna see you motivated! Work faster!" is stupid.

Yay! I wanna work there. =)

I've heard plenty of complaints about LucasArts' working conditions. "Like Microserfs, but with Star Wars" I think is how Chris Purvis put it.
