Titan

"We are the first visitors of Titan,"
said Jean-Jacques Dourdain, ESA's director general

But how does he know?

Anyway the story is here

I just think it is cool that we (mankind) are finally having some luck with space exploration again.

Who knows? perhaps within the life time of most of us here, we will be exploring new life and new civ... well you get the idea...

IG-64; A lot of science is based upon the theory of evolution (and with that, ice ages and stuff). In science, there's no other theory that is acceptable, so it's logical to research the theoryb the have now, and possibly adapt it. Don't go whining about that old book, seriously.

On another note, I saw something about possible water thing on the news earlier today; very intriguing stuff.

Whatever, but don't rule out creation completely, it's no more or less proven or disproven than evolution, It all depends on what you want to believe. I just wish they'd study what they find as they find it, not based on something that we'll never be sure about.

Sir Isaac Newton beleved in God, so did Galileo Galilei, although the church people didn't want him to study it at all cause they thought it was blasphemous.

You can say stuff about my "old book" but I could say the same about your theory.

This is a great landmark I think in space exploration and mankind, and I really don't want to turn it into just another flame war, so lets just end this here. You can get the last word if you want, I don't care.

Please, save the evolution vs. creation for the Senate, we all know where that leads.

Back OT, it's interesting that Titan is being explored, but I'm more intrigued by what's on Europa, especially under that layer of ice.

Yes, I'm not sure how the creation thing even got in here, but it has its own flame filled thread in the senate.

As for the Europa thing, I believe they are working on some sort of remote drill/submarine probe. The idea being it will drop onto Europa, drill down into the ice and if there is water under there will have a look around.

gonna look that up now...

EDIT: here we go, it seems the mision is delayed till 2010 though.

Any predictions? Think 2001 ASO is going to be right? :p

What does that have to do with anything? and the wooly mammoth and mastadon alone prove the Ice Age was around.

Point is, off the evolution vs. creation crap.

Anyway, neat-o.
