Now I'm kinda runnin dry on ideas for textures. Every thing I try seems lame to me LOL!

I was also thinkin of putting a sphere at the back of the hilt with spikes coming off it but I don't know?

I'm outa ideas maybe one of you all can give me the kick in the head I need:D

Ummm something evil? no, but seriously I don't know it's hard to come up with a texture for that model, it's a good looking model, but my texture inspirations usually come while I'm modeling, but I guess I would have a mix of black, red and of course the "shiny" metal on that hilt.

Really the screenshot of the in games are bad if you play at 1280X1024 with 2xAA and full AF you can see the detail.

And yeah I could have lower polyed it but, If I dont have to low poly it then I wont:) Its not like Jedi Academy when you go over 1600 polys a opengl warning pops up and says to many faces blah blah!

Plus I learn new ways to do things all the time that cuts down on polys but still looks good.

Plus with nice renders I've noticed you tend to get more downloads:)

Oh yeah my forums http://s8.invisionfree.com/Hefe_Mods/

Sweet looking hilt (as usual)... nice robe too ;) hehe

If you're looking for something to 'oomph' it up without going through a complete re-texture, or worse, re-model... You could always strengthen the alpha on the ribs (grip) of the hilt. Just a slight upper strength alpha stroke say on every other rib would give you a nifty banded look without going through any major hassles.

Let the shaders do the work for you ;)

In any case, it's still a fine looking saber to add to anyone's collection (it'll definitely be in mine) :D

This is what I would do. You might like it for a variation. Black for the emitter, silver for the raised sections. Silver for the central portion, black for the rings. Silver for the base, black for the raised grips.

It reminds me a lot of the Mara Jade lightsaber, Jeffrey Parks version.
