TSL WIP: Actual Ending. Major Scripting/Artistic Help Requested

I'm not sure if everyone here knows about the removed TSL ending material. If not, you can read about some of it here.

 

For the past few days, I've been putting together the real ending - or a version of it - based on the material that remains, and linking the sound files to the dialogue options. There is not enough left, quite, to make a perfect or entirely coherent ending for the game - however, there's enough to have a lot more closure for your party members. I've also added some things to help the character feel as if their choices really do matter, as that was supposedly a major point of the game that kinda fell all to pieces near the end.

 

I've studied several of the tutorials, but I'm fairly certain that I can't do this alone. I'd like the help of an experienced KOTOR-scripting explorer to help me add in several cutscenes, several dialogues, edit existing dialogues and cut-scenes appropriately. I may need the help of an artist as well: an edited model of Atton will be required for a few of the endings and I'm not even sure if this model is hidden in the game files somewhere already, or if his base model will have to be edited.

It would be great to get those dlg's and VO's back into the game, But I haven't had the time to really dig into the games files and I have only finnished it once as DS :rolleyes:

 

Can you list how much you have organized, How content are we actually talking about here. I think if you state your plan for adding this unused content others maybe more willing to help out. For specific story content please use Spoiler tags.

That sounds great and I wouldn't mind helping you with this and I could also try to help convert it over for the xbox as well... (could try)

Well I am working on the HK Factory, it's slow work as I have to recreate the level from the Xbox version by hand as I don't know how to extract it from the xbox version. There's no voice sets for it, or at least I have not found any yet, so I will have to either:

 

a. use what voices I can.

b. just use text.

 

It's looking more and more like b, but that may change.

 

I look forward to seeing how your project turns out, it's rather ambitious but fortunately they left a lot of stuff in for you to work with.

i been browsing through the sound files as well, i think it would be entirerly possible to do what you are think about, maybe not on the large scale you're thinking, but using the sound files, it would seem very simple to complete the ending(i may be wrong)

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

 

 

 

 

for example, using the lighside ending,

use scripts to kick you back to ebon hawk, or maybe even the telos academy, then just set up dialog, that makes use of the whole "i have to go, you must all stay here" theme, you could talk with the party indivualy, and part with them using the sound files that are already in there, i dont remember which folder, but there seems to be sounds for all of the party, which seem to be gear toward this kind of ending, then when thats over, script t3 to roll up and have a little dialog with him, and end it along the lines of "i'm ready" or ect. then just script to activate the final movie of the ebon hawk going into the outer rim

 

I will be glad to do this with you, i am just now playing with scripts, but if this thing gets started, i believe their are others here, who could help us learn

I wouldn't mind seeing Atris in the party..

 

While I would really like a better stroy, I really don't like that versions either. I don't like my favorite charachters getting killed (Handmaiden, Atton, Visas, Mira, HK-47, Mandalore) or killing eachother (unless I made some pretty big conversation mistake while playing)

 

I desire a stroy that is more down to earth with more normal jedi and Sith and not those Planet-life sucking, unkillable, ovepowered or walking void crap...

That's definatly a possibility. AFter all, why then would she be in the concept art fighting Nihilus?

But having them kill off one another brings os much closure and drama to an otherwise stale ending. Come on man: Atton dying for the female PC and confessing his love as his last breath. That's gold!

The picture doesn't really tell much, but it shows *gasp* Mandalore and Visas on Malachor's surface! Yeah, you see the red circle there? Yeah. Unfortunately, you can only see Mandalore right now, but ingame, you can clearly see Visas standing beside him.

There is a whole audio sequence that was also cut between Mandalore and Visas. Mandolre is apparantly almost dead and tells Visas to leave him, but she tries to help him. Mandalore then tells her what Revan told him when he left. I forget the folders it was in. I think it was in 90*.

 

For those interested Revan tells Mandalore that he has no need for warriors that were already beaten and that the Mandalorian wars were nothing more than a string pulled by the Sith Empire.

Isn't it stupid though? Making a picture the load/save screen with your party members at the bottom.

 

And the folder for the dialogue is 852/852mand. Perhaps it was on the Ravager... they number their dialogues and planet modules accordingly...

edit: The forum is for a specific mod and is therefore allowed under rule 11, but if nobody has the desire to work together, that's fine too. :)

tu has a list of most of the stuff people have found, up here. And this thread on Obsidian has a list of almost everything we've found: once we're absolutely sure there's nothing left to discover, we'll decide what's going back in. As it is: we're going to add a whole lot of it.
