New MOD Painted Droids

I know what your asking what does he mean by that we can already paint droids how is that new.

Answer Now we can have custom paint schemes applied when ever we build an armor for a droid. After much intensive work and shelving this and coming back I figured out how to have droid armor apply paint schemes when it gets put on.(The worst part was how simple this turned out to be.) This is something I have been working on since my as of yet unreleased Droid recruits mod for KOTOR 1.

I will be releasing this mod by the end of the weekend. I would like to include with it many of the popular alternate paint schemes as proof of concept and that it work with it. If anybody has any objections let me know I will include all readme's for the original scheme's that others have created. Right now I've got to sit down and implement them in game.

This mod will actually be a dual release mod for both KOTOR 1 & TSL. They will have there own seperate folders within the mod.

The biggest drawback I'm running into is alot of the icons are failing to apear for the armor. The worst part is that other than the 2 lines I add to the droid armor uti nothing as changed from the originals. For some reason none of the mdm armor icons show. Only model type 1 armor icons appear and I think one heavy armor icon. I'm not sure what type of screenies to provide. Mostly because it is just like attaching a new skin to a droid except it is being handled by a armor instead of via a straight overide. But I'll see what I can do.

Here are some updates I have gotten most everything working for this now I'm just drawing my self together to finish the various new textures included in the mod. I am also working on a picture tutorial if at all possible of how to build your own droid armors that provide a new paint scheme.

Here are some screenies of T3 to tide people over. I know some look really corny but hey it is more for the variety and example.

Snow White T3

Leather & Pine or Red & Teal T3 (depending on the light)

R5 Astromech Droid inspired T3

Light Blue T3

Ice Cold T3

Mean Green T3

Granite and Amethyst T3

Red-Chocolate Ice T3

Basic Astromech T3 type 1

Basic Astromech T3 type 3

Basic astromech T3 type 2

I hope some of these peak peoples interest.:D

SWEET! T3 is a mood ring! (kidding)...

Skins look great man! Looking forward to this release as T3 at the moment is rather drab... bleh...

R5 and Red-Chocolate are going to be the 2 I'm going to have problems choosing... hmm.. rock/paper/scissors time! ;)

Thanks for Positive feedback I have a couple more T3 skins I'm polishing up then I will be doing HK. I might even take a shot at GOTO in the Future however I want to keep it to these 2 as the skins can be adapted for either game without any real problem. The real difference between T3 in KOTOR-1 and KOTOR-2 is T3's TGA is named P_T3M3_01.tga in KOTOR 1 and P_T3M4_01.tga in KOTOR 2. Amazingly the texture is there in the BIF files for both games.

I see T3 got himself a new job as a clown (joke)

Anyway it's good to see you can change it but I don't like most of those skins, they just don't have that right feel. (hey not all criticism can be positive) Some of them look promising though.
