@Seprithro, Juha Avery: Let's drop the subject.

Juha, you should contact svösh directly if you need a single saber -- it is presumptive to ask a modding team to make you a customized saber pack.

Sep, please do not use verbage that would incite flames.

Those are some AWSOME work.... Looking forward to putting that into my override folder.

Been playing Rep Commando for a bit lately... That will definately give me an excuse to start up a new game of TSL.

GREAT WORK~!

Heh I have been doing the exact same thing! (Besides creating mods of my own)

ok back on topic.

I have another wip hilt to show, I was going to wait until it was completely finnished, But I thought ah what the hell I'll show it now. The texture and model are done for the most part I just have to clear up a pesky UV problem. When you you train Atton to be a Jedi he will build this as his personal lightsaber

Wow man! I haven't even seen this one... you've been holding out... hehehe

Well, I've been busy as well, T7 cracks a mean whip.. :dev11:

Zez Kai Ell's saber is UVmapped and color-zoned... so here's a sneeky peek. What do you say, think I should leave it these colors?? (kidding)

OK, back to work before T7 notices I'm on the forums and not working ;)...

ENJOY!

I made it ;) Thanks! :) I’m considering releasing it in this mod as well as my good old Sith vengeance never released that I made in k1. If not in here, I will release it once I test it on more heads. At the moment I know my new one fits the bearded pc head , and atton’s. It clips Bao’s big jaw line and I haven’t tried it on others yet.

Hehe I Was wondering who might notice something was off in the pics, so Harker, Arlen Treesong, and RebelScum! get this:D

Hey I love how Kreia's walking stick saber looks. Out of curiosity will you mod the game to give her her saber from the begining? I mean I think it would make sense for her to already posess a lightsaber from the start.

If you do do that will you also edit the one cutscene at the begining of the game where she duels darth Sion and she pulls out that silly vibroblade?

Ok here is a sneek peak at a group project in the works By svsh, Seprithro, ChAiNz.2da, and myself T7nowhere.

You have all done a really good work on this... Althought all your models are really nice, I'm sure the best part will be the script. Having each character having their own saber will be pretty cool. If you could make some small quest for all npc so they made them by their own saber once you have train them (or visas and kreia rebuilding theirs) and it would be even better. (IMHO)

So i get to the point, I was playing with the modding tools for a day or too when i figured something (beeing lazy) that might help you save some time but will eventually deprive you from the satisfaction of having done all by yourself if choose to do it...

I explain :

it is possible and quite easily to import already made models from Jedi Knight 2 : Jedi Outcast and Jedi Knight Academy to the tempest pack from Gmax. Then you save them to max files and re-open them into Gmax with NWmax to export them properly to TSL after the proper tweaking has been made... It take me no more that 10 mn to import a saber in game (in fact more than that but i had to figure out how it work and practice with the tutorial a bit, but for modders like you it would be even easier)

And there are numerous models that can be used this way according to the huge mod database from thoses games and to the possible compatibility beetween the games (not all can be imported i guess) !!! Doing so and with the proper approval and authorization from various modders and authors from those mods and models you could use already made models (and there are some pretty cool models and textures) to add them to your mod...

And for all others readding this that are not as lazy has me you can also do this with blasters and other weapons... See the models from the Jedi Knight series and compare them to the models in TSL (beurk those ugly textures make me sick !!!) There is a mod idea here i guess....

So you didint actually get any model working in the game yet?

Yes I Do !! :D

I have imported Qui-Gon Jin's saber from a model made for Jedi Knight Academy (i do'nt remember the author but i can find it  ), using the Guardian Sabers Mod from Darkkender for testing purpose and it worked perfectly !

But as i said i'm lazy and and importing all that stuff in TSL would be a pain in my @##...

I guess i could lend a hand in my spare time but not much...

@ lord_yig

I appreciate your enthusiasm, But I can safely say I would Never port a model made by someone else(even with permission) and I think Svösh, Seprithro, ChAiNz.2da feel the sameway towards porting models. Why port when you can make your own that you can then choose to do with what ever you want.

I'm not sure if you were suggesting porting models directly from Jedi Knight 2 : Jedi Outcast and Jedi Knight Academy or porting other modders models. If you were suggesting porting models from those game then I have to tell you that porting Resources from another game into TSL or KotOR is against forum rules and quite Illiegal.

To be honest I really dislike the Thought of "porting models from another game" It sets my disgusto meter on high. SO you will NEVER see any ported models in my mods unless I made the model. Its more fun to make it yourself anyway. :)

The npc's that you can train will not have a quest to build there own lightsabers, that I think could get annouying to have to go off on a side quest so that your new Padawan can build his or her lightsaber. However I do have plans for a training sequence where the PC will teach there new padawan the fundementals of the force and how to build their personal lightsaber. You as the player will get to choose the blade color or you can leave it up to the npc ;).

I have a few Vague Idea's of how Kreia and Visas will get their new lightsabers. AND I like sepharih Idea of Kreia having a lightsaber from the beggining(it will have to be restricted to Kreia though) bUt giving it to her during those levels would require editing that one scene in paticular(I think would be be fairly easy to do) ;).

I have an idea FOr Visas But it needs more research on my part.

So far the mod is progressing nicely were all keeping up with each other. AS for myself I am working on my last hilt for Mira and so once that one is finnished, I'll be working on scripting the new hilts into the game.

While indeed this may be true, at Holowan there are certain rules and guidelines that we go by. In particular, rule #14 from here:

http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=127725

Modeling as most any of us that have been doing it for a time, or just now diving in (such as myself) enjoy making 'brand spanking new' stuff for enhancing the game's pleasure... hehehe

Though it takes longer to make it from scratch rather than import an exisiting model from another game, it also helps to alleviate any future problems down the road be it legal or clashes with the original author(s)...

As for the NPC's, or svösh's new mask.... there's more in store than just a 'few' sabers ;) Keep an eye out! :D

We'd also like to thank everyone for the great feedback & support you've shown for this massive project. Thanks for being patient with us. We're working hard to get this out in a timely manner, but we're also not wanting to take any shortcuts either (as I'm sure most of you understand)...

One note I think we need to mention with the increasingly more advanced mods coming out. We have reserved 2 values in the baseitems.2da.

Please do NOT use lines #105 & #106

We have made sure this mod is already compatible with Darkkender's Segan Wyndh v2 Jedi Armor Mod, siince it incorporates a baseitems entry. Thanks everyone! Keep an eye out for some new screenies eiher today or tomorrow ;)
