Hey thats wierd I have the exact same problem. I wonder whats causing it.

The CM_Baremetal is showing through too much. his Black skin must be reading as transparent instead of black so you are getting too much gold shine from the envmap.

I noticed a bit of this in the screenshot he provided, you see it on the eyes and rim of the helmet.

My deepest appologiez guys, I have NO idea what is causing this, I tried testing it by taking everying out of my override folder save this helmet and it worked fine, but when i tested it on antoher computer it was all shiney. Its the problem from hell, its not working, but there is no reason why. It cant be the texture as it is working with most other people. I honestly dont know what to say. this is bad, Im sorry to have disappointed. I promis i will do all my best to find out how to fix it.

 

BTW: If ANYONE finds out how to fix it and can, I give you all permissions to release it as a fix or a 2.0 version, just label me as the model maker and skinner.

K i just gave something a wack, I deleted the thermon.tga and now i am getting the same golden problem. Make sure everything got to the override directory then make a backup of your override directory and delete everything in it except for the vader helmet. See if that makes it work, at least then we will know if it is a compatability issue

didint work for me...... GOD DAMN IT i was so forward loking getting that saber back with dookus hilt and damn it if the wait will be in vain......

 

Oww if someone could make only the dooku downloadable cause my connection isnt so good and it would cost and take looong time to get it too.....

 

I used to have dsl but since we moved to another location i cant get it,, only modem here. :,,(

The gold you see is the image CM_Baremetal a quick fix download the revan redemption robes from my site and take the image CM_MANUN.tga from there rename it to CM_Baremetal.tga drop that puppy in your override of either k1 or k2 . Fixed and in my opinion much better to have a slight blue shine to metal as apposed to yellow.

 

The reason for the gold :

 

I will try to explain this in the easiest way for all to understand, the metal in the game Is what’s known as a shader to make models shine in a virtual environment you need an image of some sort to reflect a virtual environment using alpha channels to mask off metal areas or slight metal shine on lots of stuff. The bio boys made CM_Baremetal and for the oddest reason it has yellow in it, meaning everything that is metal and shiny using the environmental shader CM_Baremetal will appear in the game with a slight golden tint.

 

So knowing this I try to keep all alpha channels I make on the light end of the scale, so I can still see the texture I made and .. to avoid my metal looking like gold.

 

When I can not help it in the case of my Good / Evil Bastila clothing I override as I mentioned above, my CM_MANUN is a simple recolor of CM_Baremetal only the yellow elements where changed on the image. Give it a try, it was released with hl plugin a bunch of seps and mav’s sabers as well. So.. many people already have it they just have to re name it.

 

On a side note my Dooku hilt is not gold and will not be gold and it does use CM_Baremetal as it's environment shader but as you see in screen shots it’s not gold ;) I have not overwritten CM_Baremetal.tga with my edited one on TSL yet.

Hey svosh I recently tried my own replacement of CM_baremetal in TSL and the game would not load so this method may not be working well with TSL.

 

However I would like to mention I'm relying upon the golden baremetal for my 3P0 in my Death Star mod.:D

Envmaptexture Shaders are hard coded , and very touchy , however some rules can be bent ;) What I did was recolour CM_Baremetal and I just tried it in k2 and it does work just fine like it did in k1. Just do this when the game is shut this game is buggy as hell, and seriously doesn’t like image editing while it’s running .

 

The only 2 ways to make shaders

 

1: is to override a default like I mentioned above

 

2: is build a new models using clever techniques in the .txi and the models shader material setting and your custom image for it alone.

 

Darkkender ink1 many of the npc droids used envmaptexture my cube. Including HK , t3 and the assault droids. The image mycube is a cropped area of CM_Baremetal, you can also use gunmetal all of these images use yellow/ golden tones
