El Sitherino
I like Gamestop more as our only EB Games is staffed by complete pricks. *shrugs*

The guy was probably new. Every single game we sell has two "skus" for those of you who don't know retail, a "sku" is the name for the bar code attached to the game. All games have two attached to them, one for used, one for new. When we take in a trade in game, we always attach sticker over top of the old original bar code, to indicate that it is a used one, with a used price. IF the clerk scanned a game box without one of those said bar code, the game would simply ring up at full price. Had you taken a receipt back to the store, it would be a more than easy fix. Also the prices on used games depend on demand and availability. If you buy God Of War used(good luck finding one, it doesn't sit on the shelf long...), chances are it will probably be around $44.99 vs buying Chronicles of Riddick used which is about $17.99 now. If you shop around any place you know that sells used games, you'll see GameStop has about the same prices as anyone else. Gamestop charges a little higher for it's used consoles and components because we have a 90 day warranty on ALL used merchandise. That means, if you have any problem whatsover, we will replace the prodect with no questions or hassles.

This seriously sucks! Stab me with a knife. My experience with ANY store, is that it all depends on the clientelle, and the people who work there. My experience so far, is that people seem to love shopping there, and there is nobody I work with that HATES working there really. I mean if you HATE your job, it's pretty damn impossible to give good customer service. When this store I was at was run by Funcoland, I HATED it. It was like being waited on by the comic book guy from The Simpsons. Do this: Go here and tell them what you just told us. IF you see the same staff working there, I guarentee, you will see a dramatic change in attitude.
