Jeff
I reskinned the Revan robes to be brown for Jedi-like robes, and got them to work in-game for me. But, when I send them to a friend of mine, he puts the same files into an empty override directory just like I did, and as soon as he clicks on them the game freezes. The files i used include the .tga file and the .txi file to go with it, mdl and mdx files, and the .uti file. I left the .uti file blank besides the tag and resref, and the texture variation so my friend could fill in what he wanted. Does anyone see what is wrong with this? Achilles
Which game is this for? Both KotOR and TSL have Revan robes/models/textures etc. If you made a mod for TSL and he's trying to make it work in KotOR (an it's not just a simple skin mod), then you probably aren't going to have much luck. Jeff
Both of us are using TSL and it still doesn't work. I can't think of what could be wrong. It just doesn't make sense!!!

No i meant just the item name and description so he could put whatever he wanted. All the spaces that are necessary to play it in the game are filled in. I've never had a problem if I change them like you should.

And plus, they worked for me, just when I sent them to my friend it locked his game up. I filled in the item name and properties anyways just in case, but i dont think that is the problem. Ooookkkk That's really odd that for you the name would show and not for him??? I believe that's the first time I heard of that problem. He could have something possibly conflicting mods or the like. But I"m pretty sure in saying as long as you put the files in a .zip, .rar,.ace, etc. and send it that way you won't have probs. If your emailing them individually try a zip file or somthing. Hope that helps
Jeff
Yeah it doesn't make any sense, it freezes for him but works fine for me. I've made some minor changes, but nothing that I think will fix it, and I'll just send it to him again and see what happens. Thanks for your help. ChAiNz.2da
Have you made any .2da edits or have any mods on your end that may have an affect?
Darkkender
Have you both patched and updated your versions of TSL? There may be any number of computer hardware related glitches that are occuring between your 2 machines on top of any game glitches. However a big glitch will always be if any of the files are missing important data fields. Also make certain your tga is saved as 32bit and not as a 24bit tga. This used to cause lockups & freezes for K1 on my machine or the skin wouldn't apply to the model at other times for me. This especially happens if the skin is applied to a body model like the revans robes because if the skin isn't applying for some reason it will sometimes lockup and crash the game because your body model is now invisible. The game doesn't support an invisible PC body model providing an instant crash. Also another related problem can be caused ocasionally by a skin using a heavy alpha channel for something like a metallic effect if the appearance 2da file doesn't indicate CM_baremetal on some skins it can cause a crash due to the transparency issue. These are just possible problems that can and have occured on my own PC at home through my months of modding and are not necesarily the cause for your friends computer crashing. Jeff
Well I don't think we're on the same patch level, maybe that's the problem. I know it's not other mods because both of us tested from an empty override. I re-sent it with a few minor changes and I have yet to hear back from him, so we'll see if it works or not.
