Hey guys!

 

right, i've come across some 'kinks':

 

i've tested it in-game, it works, BUT theres no Texture:

i believe the reason is in this pic:

i see ppl's unique weapon .tga's and its scattered, so i think that it applys to this.

 

can anyone lend assistance to these chaps, i'd like to see this blade into this game as much as the two modders

The texture names shouldn't be the same. I believe the actual weapon texture is set in the model itself or something. I know that the icon has to be named like the other icons of the weapon's type (vibrosword in this case). The names are fine.

 

From your screenie, it looked textured, too.

Did you check your file size like T7 guggested?

 

If the texture is mapped right it should display no probs unless the file size is off. Like T7 said some (most) graphics cards won't recognize it. I have a higher end and a lower end in two machines and neither will display right until I adjust the size of the tga then it works.

Is the w_scythe_001 your skin? If so,...

 

 

1) Is this how it's laid out in the UVmap of the model's MAX scene?

 

2) Is the skin a square? 64x64, 128x128, 256x256, 512x512. It must have one of these dimensions...

 

3) Is there an alpha channel to lend to "shininess" via the .txi file?

 

I had sent a PM to Juha, but that was before I saw this post... my suggestions may not work unless you take the above steps into account...

And check the material diffuse too and change it to white. Like t7 said, that might make the texture more brighter.

 

 

You have to change the dimension to one of those 512x512 etc thing's cause I did that on my computer and after that the texture started showing up BUT its still so dark, i can only see it in wery bright places of the game and in some angles,

or you could just release a v2 for the guys / gals that dont know how to mod. that would be a lot easier. its also helpful to me :p

The only problem I can see with 16bit, is that you're going to lose alot of detail in your skin. Especially if you're resizing the pic rather than building it starting from the correct dimensions. Your texture will begin to pixelate...

 

Not only that, you might have problems using an alpha channel for the shader "shiny" metal effect...

(if you're even able to use one at that low res)

 

I gotta go with Matt on this one, not only out of convenience, but alot of peepz over at PCGM don't visit this site... if anything, I'd at least mention this in your comments for the mod (at PCGM)...

Well it isnt really much up to me hence this is Mud's mod and not mine, i was a part of it cause i did the skin mapping and icons but not anything else. So until Mud will come back i cant really do anything.

 

Lets just hope that Mud will do it. Ofcourse ill help him if he needs help but i doubt it.

I dont and DIDNT need help - if i were to skin it myself, which i did in the end because the skinned version wasnt sent to me until later, it just would have taken longer - which it did. I will fix it, just give me abit of time. And im sorry its too dark and wont show up sometimes but it looked light enough on my putie and it also showed up great
