Pretty fun to read. Much like the complaints we're hearing today about the Prequels.

contrary to other folks who have said that Mark Hamill can't act, I feel that he had the only believably written part in the story. The dramatic pace of the show was very badly handled, and many important scenes weren't believable
Reminds me of the Hayden debates after AoTC was released.

All in all, it's pretty interesting to read and gives me hope that over time people will stop bitching and just enjoy the movies as the escapist space opera's they are.

it is human nature to whine....

Ive been reading some absolutely hilarious criticisms over ar TFN...youd wonder why people who dislike it that much even bothered to go see it ???

A friend of mine who is going to see ROTS later this week asked me about the acting, and if it was better than AOTC....

I dont get the whining about the acting. Other films Hayden and Natalie have done demonstrate they are fair actors. Its GLs dialogue of course, but even then, I dont see it as a reason to trash the films. I think the emphasis has always been on action. If people want to see acting, they should go hire Olivier's 1956 Hamlet.... definitely not SW :p

Heh! iSith is on a one man crusade to silence the doubters!!! :D

I'm not sure anyone ever blamed the actors, it was always GL's lines and rusty ability to handle dialogue that was blamed. Even in the OT. (though i never bought the problems people had with the OT dialogue as i thought it was pretty natural... but that might be because the actors ad-libbed more in those films).

A friend of mine who is going to see ROTS later this week asked me about the acting, and if it was better than AOTC....

Although its not the actors at fault, you can't blame him for being wary. I'll actually be interested to see if ROTS can keep up it's momentum at the box office, as I've had real trouble finding mates who want to go anymore.

About 15 of us made a special trip to london to see TPM on the opening night. I could only find 4 mates who wanted to go see AOTC, and only one who wanted to see ROTS. All the others made comments along the lines of "nah, i've gone off star wars" or "not another one", and even the guy who wanted to see it was going in with the attitude of "lets get the disappoinment over with".

Since ROTS is actually pretty good, maybe the word of mouth will spread and all the people who initially didn't want to go will decide to go after all.

It's not that I'm out to stop nit-picking. Just to get people to see that if they stop making such a big deal, they can enjoy things much more. Plus there are a lot of nit-picks that if people just sit and think (omg, heaven forbid) for a minute, they could peice things together. :p

"omg why does anikin have a scarz?"

Because he's in a war and **** happens?

I thought they whined about c-3po just like Jar-Jar after ANH though i could have been misinformed

They did but that was mostly washed over by the end of Empire, people just got used to it.

I don't know who 'they' are, but I remember thinking Mark Hamill was whiny back in '77 - the 'power converters' thing felt as good then as Padme standing there after her ship blew up in AotC ...
