TheOssusKeeper
to the Admin.'s and Moder.'s I was wondering if we could start an new thread for requests for new kotor tools and updates for the ones that already exist? 'cause i have an idea for a useful (i think) tool, based on Fred's Kotor Tool, i think we could use an independent 2da file editor, with a little more flexibility then the one in KT, meaning it should be able to cut/copy and paste one or more lines from one open window to another and back and forth, etc. personally i know if i had had something that could do that i would have saved a lot of time editing some of my 2da files... I know there are some really talented people out there that know how to write apps (tools) for these games, if someone wants to take on the challenge? Achilles
If you're looking for a flexible .2da editor, try tk102's tool. It can be found on PCGameMods in the KotOR section. It allows you to import any .2da file into MS Excel, manipulate it at your leisure, and then export it back into it's native format. Pretty cool stuff if you ask me. Doesn't get any better than that. stoffe
Originally posted by TheOssusKeeper I don't have Excel.... Though it is probably overkill to get and install just for editing 2da files, you could try the free alternative. OpenOffice is a free alternative to MS Office that includes a spreadsheet a bit similar to Excel. Not as quick and easy to use as KotorTool's 2da editor, but a lot more powerful when you need to do advanced things (like adding columns, copying ranges of rows etc). I'm not sure if TK's tool macro works with it or not but I do know that some macros will. So there is a bit of compat.
