TK-8252 Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 Mostly they sit around drinking Corellian ale watching Rancorball. We need to invent that on Earth.
Astrotoy7 Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 yeah, the clonies from ep3 are awesome....especially commander cody and bacara, though my all time faves are the snowtroopers from ESB.....love those long helmets ! mtfbwya
Leviathan Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 So, you must like Commander Bacara's units...
Astrotoy7 Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 So, you must like Commander Bacara's units... Indeed I do, I truly giggled when that conehead Ki-Adi Mundi got taken out...Ive never liked him mtfbwya
Leviathan Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 Astro', if I were you, I'd buy SWBF II when it's come out... You'll understand why when you'll see the available Republic units...
Kurgan Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 Han shot one of them. And according to EU, another was shot in friendly-fire. I'd say the best action the Stormtroopers were in was boarding the Tantive IV. Oh you're right, or he got knocked over from shrapnel. Forgot about that! Was the "friendly fire" that BS story about how the "look sir, droids!" guy felt guilty about all the murdering he'd been doing and killed his commanding officer in order to escape and join the Rebels? As to the Tantive IV action, I don't see what was so great about the Troopers. Sure, they showed nerves of steal moving into that deathtrap, but other than their apparent ability to see through smoke and having a larger force, it doesn't show them as particularly skilled, just disciplined. The Tatooine troopers show their relentlessness, admittedly offscreen against weak targets, but it just shows better their utterly ruthelss pursuit of their goals, plus you can see they are loaded down with special gear. But, in terms of showing them IN action I suppose you have a point. The courage of the Stormtroopers gets the better of them in ROTJ when they race off into the woods chasing a few teddy bears, only to get ambushed by said teddies.
master_skywalke Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 I actually don't know it, I like both Stormtroopers and EPIII Clonetroopers (not the EPII ones, those are )Though I more like the 501'st EPIII Clonetroopers then the 501'st Stormies.
MachineCult Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 the "look sir, droids!" guy felt guilty about all the murdering he'd been doing and killed his commanding officer lol, he felt guilty about all the murdering so he killed someone? Thats EU for you...
TK-8252 Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 lol, he felt guilty about all the murdering so he killed someone? Thats EU for you... Killed the person who ordered him to murder. Doesn't sound too unreasonable.
MachineCult Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 We aren't talking about Battlefront TK, you don't have to argue with me.
TK-8252 Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 We aren't talking about Battlefront TK, you don't have to argue with me. I'm an equal-opportunity argue...er.
MachineCult Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 you're a FAST equal opportunity arguer!! It took you less than a minute to reply lol.
Kurgan Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Killed the person who ordered him to murder. Doesn't sound too unreasonable. He should have killed his superior back before he killed the Lar's, or before he killed the Jawas... oh well, better late than never. Maybe he was hoping he'd avoid a war crimes trial by the Rebels if he killed some Imps on his way out...?
Brottor Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Personally for me I like the Stormtroopers better. Something about the mostly white uniforms seems badass. Perhaps I would have liked the clone troopers better if they had cloned this guy: http://www.ditty-o.com
Astrotoy7 Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Killed the person who ordered him to murder. Doesn't sound too unreasonable. Yeah. Trooper Davin Felth was traumatised by the order to murder defenceless civilians(Owen & Beru Lars) ... There is a bit more backstory... Its a great little story in the "Tales from Mos Eisley" Anthology mtfbwya
RobQel-Droma Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 I think the clonetroopers were better as far as look, they had some cooler uniforms and I liked the battle scars; I was more realistic for me that it would be dirty, scarred, punctured, and would have paint from each battalion, since they probably took a lot of pride in which part of the army they were from. The stormtroopers are just plain clean white, and have no distinction at all, I think that is because of the time period they were in, Vader wouldn't care for individuals in his army. More of an evil thing. The stormtroopers I am guessing would actually have the better equipment and weapons as they are later on and more advanced, although the movies were made backwards so the technology looks backward.
darthzeta Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 well. the clones wore special armor for there type of duty. thee color was so they could be easily noticed what they specialize in. it was also stupid because hey if i have ships that dont like rockets why not target arc troopers? and the stormtroopers have officer uniforms and pilot uniforms etc. the are more a universal warrior. one troop could do what 3 clones could do. and the storm trooper action ... well have you seen ep.5? the storm troopers dominated hoth. the there were also at-ats but storm trooper deaths were vary small amount compared to the rebels deaths.
Kurgan Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Hmm, the Republic stormtroopers were CGI, while the Empire's Stormtroopers were extras in costumes. So in a fight the extras could smash the computers with their prop guns, while the computers would be powerless to fight back (though the might electrocute some of the extras as they were being smashed if they didn't cut the power first). Even though many of these extras are probably middle aged or older by now, they can still put up a good fight. The computers may be shiny and new, but they have little defense against the onslaught! I give this one to the Empire's troops.
Commander Obi-Wan Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 I liked the Clones.....more than the Stormtroopers....
Furball Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I prefer the clone troopers because they killed the evil jedi.
