Which mod should I use?

Hi!

I have played through KotOR a few times, but I might consider playing again if there is a mod that will really change the KotOR experience. I won't play the whole game again for a reskin and a few new items.

There are plenty of mods out there, but I have no idea which ones I should use. Which ones are good. Is there an über mod out there that everyone uses?

One of the things I would like is new or modified force powers to make it more like KotOR 2. I would also like new missions, new endings, new NPCs, new Items. As much new stuff as possible ^^

I know I'm lazy, but I really don't feel like checking out 100s of mods. I hope some of you already know which ones are good and can teach me =)

Welcome to the Forums dagas! :waive1:

Though not necessarily a Mod "Request".. I think it'll be more appropriate in the Request Forum. I'll move it there for now.

* - This particular thread is open to 'opinion' everyone. Rule #6 doesn't apply to this one ;) hehehe...

"Uber" mods are going to be very subjective to each member's own taste... but I'm sure they can come up with some good suggestions for you :)

You're asking for KotOR mods correct? Not TSL?... Just want to make sure :)

KotOR I. Not TSL. I won't play KotOR II until the restoration project is finished. I'm looking forward to play it "the way it's meant to be played" as nVidia likes to put it.

So there is no large mod for KotOR? Only a bunch of small ones? Who don't people get together and create an "All you need in one package" mod?

Unfortunately there aren't a lot of mods like what you're looking for. They take a lot of time and effort, and you're limited in what you can do. I read the description for the Holowan mod, and while impressive, there's only one component that sounds even close to what you described, and that's only if you play as a DS female. Everything else was skins, new pc's, items, and force powers.

Sadly cry_of_paine is correct, the mods you seem to want are the hardest, most time consuming ones to make. While there are a couple of additional content mods some of us have made, there is not that many in comparison to the other types of mods.

I made a couple that add some quests though (the link is in my sig), and as far as new NPC's go you should check out the various Recruitable NPC mods available.

Can I combine RedHawke's mod and the holowan mod?

What else should I add? Any more mods you would like to suggest?

I remember a mod that made the player a jedi in the beginning of the game.Is it still out there?

It ust might be worth playing through the game again.

Is there a mod that takes away the level 10 cap on force storm? (which makes it stop at 60HP in Damage I think.) Is there a mod that takes away the level 20 cap on the player?

Well, there have been a few "level cap" mods, but they don't really work. I think the level 20 limit is hardcoded.

I know there was one so you started as a Jedi, but I can't seem to find it at the moment, either.

You might want to try this little gem by Darth333. It adds a bunch of new powers to the game! (oh, and I see tk102 worked on it as well, I had forgotten that. I don't reconize the others, exept beancounter, though.)

you are probably not going to find one mod that changes so many things, but you could if you use mutiple mods.

i for one currently have about 50 mods that i have made compatiable activate in my KotOR game, as well as about 20 more i have chosen to not currently use at this time. i also have some of my own personal mods running also (as well as working on a very interesting update with a twist to my recruit Yoda mod)

i have the All In One Force Powers , Reign of the Sith , Ord Mandell , Segan Wyndh sabers , Clear Core Sabers , Jedi Canderous , Jedi Mission , Recruit Mekel , Black & Red Droids , Ebon Hawk Basement , Tomb of Exar Kun , Chain Lightning , Kill Yuka Laka , Prestige Robes , Darth Nemisis saber , Arena Mod , Shaggoth's Sith reskin , Mech Malak , Waraxes Single , Waraxes Dual , Jolee Clothes , Invisible Headgear , Sith Items Imporved , Bastila Revalation Robes , Kamino Eugenics Chamber , Juhani Dark Robes , Lightsaber 6 pack , Revan's Mask Plus , 8 New Saber Colors , svosh all in one , just to name a few.

Padawan Mod is a mod that will let you start as a Jedi, and even alter the story on the Endar Spire to explain it better.

though i have yet to use this mod, it could perhaps provide a different game play experience, Xia Terashai Set.

i also use this Balance mod but i made my own personal variations to it. variations to this mod are as easy as just picking and choosing which .2da files to use and which to not but all offer some changes for the game.

if Tweaksta ever releases this mod, it could potential change the whole look and feel of KotOR.

hopefully some of this post, which took more of my time than i expected :p, helps!

(on a side note: Moderators, do i win a prize for the most hyperlinks in a single post?? :p)
