spinkle
I'm an atheist and I celebrate Christmas 'cuz its fun. But I just don't get easter, its like "hey our Messiah is dead, lets eat chocolate! I want mine shaped like a rabbit!" first time in history people celebrated not being able to find the body. The Doctor
^ Don't make fun of Easter. I'm very religous. I don't look forward to Christmas this year, as I'm broke. I just bought my own Trombone ($2990) and I'm going to Cuba this march Break for a Jazz Band Tour ($1534). As I'm only 15 (I turn 16 on November 10), I don't have a lot of money, so it's lucky I have enough to pay for the Bone and Cuba.

Hallucination
^ Don't make fun of Easter. I'm very religous. Sorry if I offended your beliefs, but I was making fun the commercialization of easter. Is it just me, or are folks being alot more obvious about being greedy? I saw advent calenders that had absolutly nothing to do with christmas.
El Sitherino
Well the last holiday with any remote linking to religion left would be halloween, everything else has become commercial. Easter has now also been turned into a gift day, Christmas has **** all to do with Jesus anymore...
The Doctor
^ Halloween is just as commercialized as the rest. No holiday has anything to do with religon anymore. My little cousins have no idea who Jesus even is, let alone what holidays like Easter and Christmas are really about. All holidays are an excuse toi make money nowadays. It makes me sick what companies will exploit to make a little more money. Next thing you know, nobody, and I mean nobody will have a clue what any of the holdays are actually about. spinkle
Most Christian holidays are based on ancient pagan holidays anyway, and have lost most if not all of their original significance.
The Doctor
I disagree. There are still holidays (Christmas, for example) which still hold much of their significance, even though very few people recognize it. Anyway, let's not turn this into an argument about religon. spinkle
"original significance" refers to the importance of the pagan holidays on which the modern holidays were based. subject dropped.
