Klia
HAH! All I can think of is Tim Schafer commenting how it was hell for them to get someone to pick it up. I find it interesting that they did not have the resources to make it a full-fledged battle, espically when we see that the first level is a "battle". Paranoidish
I loved reading how he got the inpiration for all the characters. Look what he said about Boyd: Boyd is the guard that is actually based on a guy that used to hang out in an ally where our old offices were. He would mutter a lot to himself about how the government was out to get him, how they were tracking him with "optics" and "plastics" and how "the pelicans knew what they were up to". I wrote down everything I heard him say and put him in the game. I also appreciated how they explained all the time, effort, love went into the game. You can tell when someone works hard on something they love. Edit: Ooh I also skipped this. They were able to put in words what I always have felt. "When a player finds a small detail in a game, its what makes the difference between them saying, "that was a good game," and, "I loved that game!" You can't skip that kind of detail, even though it may seem unimportant. Players notice and care, and word gets around. When a player notices that detail, it creates a trust between the player and the game-maker. Read the article. It leaves you with a warm, fuzzy feeling on the inside. Editx2: Although I found the Sam and Max article. Bummer... Oh, and I do realize most of my post is made up of quotes. But I had to WRITE them out. Klia
I really found the parts explaining how paranoia was a form of self absorbation interesting. It's just something to mull over. Besides, I'd really like to meet the security guard that Schafer based Boyd off of. Or Schafer could be pulling a Million Little Pieces and made this up for the sake of turning us into faithful zombies. By the time we learn that out, it'll be too late. Gruducuuz
Waterloo had been trashed and redesigned a few times and our first publisher wanted to cut it, but in the end it turned out great. According to one poll I saw, It's a lot of people's favorite. I wonder if he is talking about the poll we had here... THAT WOULD BE SO COOL. Because then I could write HI TIM SHAFER!!! in my sig and he would see it, and maybe say hi back, then we'd be best buds, and then have a movie written about our lives, with lots of art ponys, and two headed babies, and some kittens, everyone love kittens, and (keeps talking until head explodes)
Klia
That theory would work...if we had any polls.
