Glowing Blue Parts in Armor

Talmor

Recommended Posts

This can be done by telling the game to use "CM_Bright" for the shader instead of "CM_Baremetal", which is what most armours use.

To do this open notepad and type in "envmaptexture CM_Bright"(without quotes), then save the file as the same name and number as the armour and as a ".txi". Finaly make sure you have the spots on the alpha channel for your texture darkened to the level you want the areas to glow. The darker the alpha channel the brighter your armour will shine.

Please note that doing this will remove the standard shine of the metal.

BTW Since you are asking you editing help and not a new mod you should have put this thread in the main area of Holowan.

There has got to be a workaround for this. Oldflash was able to put both the Baremetal and the Bright textures on my Heart of the Force Saber hilts. Looks kickin' too. Has anyone seen Oldflash around lately? I don't think I have seen him post anything in quite a while. He would be the one to ask about the solution to this issue.

I would assume that is because he built an new model and was able to tell the model to applie 2 shaders, and since we cannot make new body models yet this would not be possible with armours.

Hmmm... CM_bremetal, CM_bright... all the same: texture files and on every texture you can set a .txi file (there is one for cm_baremetal: "cube=1"). ;)

Try thisone: put "envmaptexture CM_Bright" in cm_baremetal.txi

The Alpha channel was the trick....I think i over did it because it looks like "TRON" armor now. Wish somebody would make a mod so I could have a remote like that one npc has

Will you post this to PCGamemods? (with the permission of the original author, of course)

Yah, that would be kewl :)

Unfortunately, I don't think you can assign a puppet (remote) to the main PC. Only to NPC's... :fist:

No its not possible. I just got done reading the tutorial about puppets..

MdKnightR, I deleted it but I am making it again...which leads me to another question. In editing that armor I would have to go into the game to see if i had it right, is there a program out there that raps the flat picture around? It makes my head hurt trying to picture that in 3D in my head.

Wait, so you use bothe CM_Baremetal and CM_Bright, how does the alpha know which one it is effecting? Im trying to add glow to my Korderon Trooper helmet.

Alpha channel from texture will set first envmap (ie: cm_baremetal for shiny) and on this one you can set one alpha to control second envmap. However second envmap will affect only first envmap.
