TSL Framerate issues: everywhere.

I have been attempting to run TSL on my laptop. Yes, I read the thread on laptops. I brought all my graphical options down to minimum. The framerate is unbearable, it not only occurs in-game, but also on the main menu, and during the character creation screens. In-game, I move about three frames, and movement stops. I can still exit the game via the menu. I installed, updated to 1.0b, updated to the newest Catalyst Drivers. No luck. I then reinstalled and attempted to run it that way. No dice. As you will see, all my hardware appears up to scratch. The processor is 9 mhz below recommended (AMD Turion-64 ML-30) , and I don't have a ton of RAM, but it passes recommended as well. I somehow wonder if it is not my video card(ATI Radeon Xpress 200M, 128MB Integrated) but it has all the necessary features listed, and has more than enough memory, so this doesn't really make sense either. Your video card is in the very low end. I don't know how well it can run the game. Are you sure all your options are set to minimum? I see from your report that softshadows is enabled and it isn't supported by your graphic card.

 

Did you tried the Omega drivers?

 

Also in your swkoto2.ini file, under Graphic Options, add the line

Disable Vertex Buffer Objects=1

 

Finally, try to free up all the ressources you can by closing any other applications.

S/He probably won't be able to use the Omega Drivers because of the built-in monitor...

Omega drivers (quality version) worked on my laptop and were a big help. I did a little happy dance when my game finally loaded reliably after installing those.

For the nVidia Omega drivers there were two choices --one for quality and one for power or speed or something like that (it's been too long since I went to the Omega site to remember). There may only be one choice for the ATI version. Read his instructions carefully, and if you have a choice of 'quality' drivers pick that one.

Ok, here is the situation, I have an ATI Radeon xpress 200 series video card, no not on a laptop. The problem i'm having is at the very begining of the game, the video is extreamly chopy, I can move a little, but then after that the character freezes up in mid step. (he looks like a statue of a person running) I am using the latest omega drivers, which actualy helped a little. I have read all the other posts, tried the Dantooine fix, just to see if it would fix my problem, used msconfig to remove services that start with windows that I dont need. If it helps any here are my system specs:

Strange thing is, this system should have 512MB of ram, not 368 mb of ram.

This is really starting to bug me, because my old computer ran this game perfectly, and then i went and "upgraded" to this system and it runs like crap. Any help would be greatly apreciated, sorry about the spelling, have a nice day and keep up the good work.
