Jeff Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Well, the brackets are going to be released in about 10 minutes. Who do you have advancing in the tournament? Who will go all the way? I'm a big Duke fan, and even sometimes against my better judgement, I pick them to go to the big dance every year. So they're gonna be my pick to win it all this year, they're guaranteed a #1 seed. And this may be the last chance in a while they have to win it, if Josh McRoberts goes to the draft, and obviously Shelden Williams and JJ Redick are gone after this season since they're seniors. And JJ Redick had better win POY honors, I despise Adam Morrison. When the brackets have been released, and you have yours all filled out, post it here and we'll see who picked the winner and who got the most individual wins when the tourney is over. Winner gets bragging rights!
abcd1234 Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 I think that Duke is a good team but I don't think they have the depth on their roster to make it all the way. I need to see how the bracket looks before I can pick who I think will win it. Also, I do think that JJ will win POY just because the ACC is so much of a tougher conference. The teams that Gonzaga play against is a joke.

So they're gonna be my pick to win it all this year, they're guaranteed a #1 seed. I like Duke as well, but I think Williams foul problems, shaky shooting down the stretch by Redick, and lack of real depth will do them in IMO. Right now I think UCONN looks pretty strong. I'll post my brackets when I fill them out...

And it really does hurt them when Williams gets into foul trouble because of their lack of depth. Beyond McRoberts and Williams, they don't really have any talented big men. But I think that if only one of those two possible evils happens and not both, they should be fine until the Elite Eight. Then they need both Williams in the game, and Redick to be hot.
Commander Obi-Wan Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 Ima gonna go with Villanova, I just like there chances, and I'll try to post my brackets later too.
Cygnus Q'ol Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 FINAL FOUR Texas, Memphis, UConn, 'Nova. UConn's the deepest. Texas is the sleeper.
abcd1234 Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Ima gonna go with Villanova, I just like there chances, and I'll try to post my brackets later too. 'Nova here too. With Ray getting cleared to play, I think they could go all the way.
Jeff Posted March 14, 2006 Author Posted March 14, 2006 Here's my bracket: Bracket. If you want the correct answers to the games, look no further
Commander Obi-Wan Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Despite the chances. I'll have Villanova versus Duke.
Jeff Posted March 19, 2006 Author Posted March 19, 2006 Wow, many unexpected upsets. Kansas, Tennessee, UNC, Pitt, Syracuse all losing... Not good for my bracket
Commander Obi-Wan Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Damn it! At least, Villanova is still in...
Char Ell Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 I'm still pulling for Texas to win it all, even though they squeaked by tonight.
abcd1234 Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Well at least my two teams in the finals are still in. *crosses fingers and hopes
Commander Obi-Wan Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Villanova ftfw! By one point. To Boston College. That was close.
Char Ell Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Texas: Live by the three-pointer. Die by the three-pointer. It was ugly but LSU earned the win and their first Final Four appearance in 20 years. I just can't believe they shoot so poorly from the outside and are still able to win against teams like Duke, UNC, and now Texas.
RaV™ Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Tyrus Thomas W00t! Haha George Mason that's great winning over UCONN!
Jeff Posted March 27, 2006 Author Posted March 27, 2006 This is the worst NCAA tournament I have ever watched. The final four is Florida/Nova, LSU, George Mason, and UCLA. Man, I want teams from the ACC, Big Ten, and Big East! Like last year, Illinois v N Carolina or the year before, Duke v UConn, those are the games I want to watch, not these 'cinderella' teams. Sure, 1 cinderella is fine, but when you have 4 mediocre teams in the final 4 (unless villanova beats florida), it's just not fun to watch.
