MdKnightR
I was curious about what kind of external hard drives you guys recommend. I was browsing around and found a name that I was unfamiliar with....Beyond Micro. TigerDirect has their 250 GB drive for $105 and all of the customer reviews have been really positive. Any thoughts? Det. Bart Lasiter
Could you post a link to the product page? There are usually a lot of considerations when you're looking at a new HD, for instance speed, buffer size, and interface. That aside though, these would be my recommendations

Det. Bart Lasiter
Sure... http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1538960&CatId=0 The only complaints I'd have about it would be the moderately-high power usage and the average buffer size (for an external HD a higher buffer size if preferable due to the lower transfer rates/increased latency). But that HD would perform at just below the level of the average internal HD, so it would be a good choice for file storage and things like that
Samnmax221
Sure you want an external? If your out of room inside the case, portability considerations, etc its a good idea but they are more expensive than internals in most cases.
MdKnightR
Well, I do already have an 80 gig and a 30 gig Western Digital in my case. The reason I want an external is for backup purposes...not necessarily for portability. I was also contemplating the LaCie Brick. Its that funky Lego design external drive. Samnmax221
Do you want push button back up or just a regular drive?
MdKnightR
Push button would be a nice feature, but it isn't a priority for me.
