Reclaimer
Well, I'm in a little situation: I need to find a Free Website Hosting Site for my new idea I have for a Star Wars site. Along with that, I'm looking for help with it too, but that's not the point. So far, I've tried using freewebs, but it always gives me some type of error when I hit done to create the webpage. So currently, FreeWebs is out. Any suggestions would be great.

Jeff
I have gotten recommendations from a friend about http://www.50webs.com for their free hosting. He highly recommended their free and paid hosting to me in the past.
Reclaimer
Thanks guys for your help! Well, while searching the internet, I found this site: xoompages.com. This is what it offers. * 5,000 MB disk space (5 GB) * 10,000 MB transfer (10 GB Bandwidth) * 20 MB file size limit (compare to 500kb by most other hosts!) * FREE Counters! * Easy to use Pagebuilder/HTML editor * http://username.XoomPages.com! * FTP or browser-based file manager * Instant activation * Collapsible, clean text ads - No ugly pop ups! * And Much, Much More! Does this sound legit? Or something else?
Jeff
I can't imagine free hosting giving that much. I've never seen free hosting give even a gig of space. But who knows...
ChAiNz.2da
A little late to the Party.. but we've built a list of some decent Free servers as well Check out this link for some options.. and be sure to look at post #40 as well.. Hoad posted quite a few servers further down the list... http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=140563 However the xoompages site looks pretty kewl The 20MB file size limit was the only thing that turned me off.. but if your site isn't geared towards large mods, video files, or anything of that nature.. (not sure what your project entails).. 20mb should be ample for most of anything. Especially if you use good compression (.rar or .7zip) Also, it should be plenty enough space for your needs (5gb is a nice sweeeeet amount)

So, I might put mods on it...or just link the mods to LucasFiles or PCGameMods. EDIT: Another question, this one about Forums. What are some good forums to use for a site? (Other than vB, which is WAY too expensive for me)

The Doctor
Invision Free is probably your best bet, unless you're willing to pay.
Jeff
While it is way outdated (it's been 2.0.x for years), phpbb is a good board if you're into customization, or if you don't need it to do very much for you. Invisionfree is probably the best for free hosting, but it's hosted elsewhere, not on your site. If you want something hosted on your site, I'd say go with phpbb or, I hear SMF is pretty good though I know nothing about it. EDIT: duh, you're using freely a freely hosted site so you wouldn't want to host your own forum so I would go with invisionfree.
