Star Wars: The Sith Resurrection Part II: Rise of the Jedi

"Tyrannus? Nah, he's not the problem. You've properly never met the old man..." Dar paused "What am I looking for? Ever heard of the Ark of Darth Vectivus. Which was moved to his planet many years before the Battle of Naboo. Funny that such a powerfull artifact is hidden away on a useless planet like this."

"As my master, the late Kalla Vel, once said, there is a reason for everything, although the only notable things about Taris are that it's where swoop bikes originated, it's one of the only two planets in which Tachs can be found, and it's part of the Perlemian Trade Route, which leads straight to Coruscant." Komad commented. "It was also ravaged by a Sith Lord named Darth Malak, but that was thousands of years before the Battle of Naboo. What exactly is the purpose of this Ark? Surely Darth Vectivus is dead now."

"Tyrannus' actions are unclear. Perhabs he has none, perhabs he's mearly observing you. I really don't care. And your are right Alkea, powerfull objects do give off signatures but the Ark... it doesn't, I don't understand it... it just doesn't..." Dar muttered to himself.

Alkea stood poised next to her brother. She searched through their bond to find the familiar link they onced shared when they performed joined pair fighting in the practice rings. She waited for Komad to make the opening move once she found their link. She sent a reassurance and that she was ready.

Dar laughed "Attempting to tell the future are we half-breed? I'd rather die than become your prisoner... But you don't want that to happen do you? You made a promise to my sister to keep me alive. She has alwase been weak. She should soon release that I am beyond turning. If I have too I will blow this planet to dust along with my own men and innocent civillians just to find my damn Ark. She needs to open her eyes your death will do exactly that."

"Look around. The explosions have died down. All your strongholds have either been destroyed or captured. You have lost. Even if you kill us you cannot hope to defeat five Republic Battalions. Your only practical option is to surrender." Komad said, reactivating his lightsaber.

"I didn't and it's not. The Ark holds a key which unlocks something which is like the Star Forge expect it was built by a similar race to the sith. However they're from a fare galaxy and the the presence of this station being in this galaxy is all of a mistake. The station has a defence system which create shields to mimic a cluster of blackholes. They can only be deactived by the key which is hidden inside the Ark."

"It's not the Maw... or the Yuuzhan Vongs. There are other galaxys out there you know. We have the location of the blackhole cluster which is located.... I'm not telling you where it is. Your my enemy...unless you two join me, I'm sure my beloved sister would eagerly join you too if see discovered the more freedom the dark side has. You jedi are foolishly held back up your damn code. We're not." Dar offered, not really expecting a postive reply, but he felt it was worth a shot.

"I'll never join the Sith. The Sith killed my grandfather and my mother, and they stranded my father on Tatooine for seven years. We will find the station ourselves, and destroy it. Rest assured, we will meet again, and you will be forced to choose between the ones you care about and the Sith. Will you make the right choice or will you plunge deeper into the darkness?" Komad replied, stepping back, and lifted John's unconcious body onto his back.

Alkea had watched the transaction between her brother and Greea's brother with interest. She stayed back preferring to interpret the motions and see the bigger picture. When the ATT dropped down she grabbed ahold of a strap to help hand up John. She stood by her brother till he was finished with the pilot before saying, "There might be clues that will lead to the location of this thing he seeks. Our best bet is to not search blindly but methodically."

As an afterthought she added softly, "He was right about the code. Then again you have broken it by marrying as have I by falling in love."

"You're right. We should get back to the apartment now." Komad replied, eyeing up another ATT flying by. They soon were reunited with the other Jedi and Republic Soldiers. Komad walked up to his wife. "We ran into your brother out there. Redeeming him will not be easy, but I think there's still a chance." He said to her.

(FYI: The part of the Jedi Code which forbids love and marriage hasn't existed since Order 66)

Komad looked at his sister. "Remember how Dad redeemed the Sith Lord Darth Frigidus, but he was a friend of the family before he turned to the Dark Side, and only a Sith for two years. Dar on the other hand, has been a Sith for nine years." He said. "This ship's about to take off, we should get on." He added, pointing to one of the landed Yavin-class Star Destroyers that was preparing to leave the planet.

As they boarded, Alkea was set to argue. She spoke in a firmer voice than usual, "It matters not how long. What of Darth Vader? He was a Sith Lord for what twenty years? In the end he turned back and it was because of Master Skywalker. So don't say that it is not possible."

Greea watched the exchange and was surprised in Alkea's firey manner. Three years in self imposed exile had changed her to someone not afraid to take chances. That worried her to a degree and she sent that concern to Komad.

I'm concerned too, but I think it would be best to see it from her point of view. The closest I've been to someone I loved dying was when an ex-girlfriend of mine joined the Sith. Any other people I've cared about and lost we people Alkea cared about too, like our grandfather, and our mother. Komad sent back to Greea. Immediately after, a message came from the bridge. "Sir, we're receiving a message from a Suvam and Besha Bodonawieedo." An officer said on the comm. "Patch it through here, corporal." Komad replied. He then looked to Greea. "What do you think your parents want?" He asked.

"I don't know," Greea replied. She still wasn't convinced about Alkea but she was willing to follow Komad's lead.

Alkea had been standing nearby and said, "They probably want to know about your brother or give us a clue as to where to start looking." Her eyes said nothign as she turned away and walked to one of the quartering decks.

(FYI: For this part, you'll need to know that I played through Jedi Academy the first time as a Lightside Rodian Male. Otherwise, it makes no sense. Also, that thing about Komad's ex-girlfriend joining the Sith is a bit of foreshadowing for the third part.)

The holographic image of Greea's parents appeared before them. "It's good to see you again." Komad said. "The feeling is mutual." Suvam, Greea's father replied. "But we didn't contact the two of you for small talk. We heard about how you faced Dar on Taris, so Greea, it's time you learned the truth." Suvam said, a grim look on his face.
