RaV™ Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Hate him or love him Barry Bonds would never break the home run record. Although I find my opinion more than just an opinion more like a fact, but maybe impossible is nothing in Bonds' mind.

Cygnus Q'ol Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 There's no doubt in my mind that he's gonna break it. It's just a matter of when. After this season's over, he'll need maybe 25 or 30. Definately a reachable number. Although, with the way pitchers are mincing towards him, that may take three years. If they weren't so scared of him, he'd probably would have gotten it this season. Go Barry!
RaV™ Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 To me he looks like he's about to break down. I mean how can he play left field? I just think he won't break it. Hank Aaron's record deserves to be broken by someone far more deserving.
Jae Onasi Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 To me he looks like he's about to break down. I mean how can he play left field? I just think he won't break it. Hank Aaron's record deserves to be broken by someone far more deserving. He could always get moved to an AL team and do the DH thing--that'll eliminate the problem of what position to put him in. I'd love to see someone who is charismatic, talented, a good role-model for kids, squeaky clean record, doesn't smoke, drink to excess, do drugs or other less savory activities, loves the game so much that he doesn't want to rip off the league with his salary, all that in someone who gives good interviews and would be the poster child for MLB as the one who would break the record, but we don't get to make that choice. Some are blessed with more talent than personality.
RaV™ Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Well he could do the DH thing, but do you think he would? Well I mean if I was him i'd take the opportunity at first glance.
Cygnus Q'ol Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Well he could do the DH thing, but do you think he would? Well I mean if I was him i'd take the opportunity at first glance. I know he'd probably like to stay in SF, but, that's what happens to aging power hitters that can't field anymore. They get put out to pasture in the American League and DH. Almost any team in the AL would probably take him to break the record with their team, but he'll go into the Hall as a Giant. I just would like someone to break it in my lifetime. I don't see anyone topping his career any time soon. The yearly home run record, the only player to go 500/500. (homers/steals) Eclipsing Babe. Leading all of baseball in walks. He's got a shot at Aaron, we'll see...
Jae Onasi Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 ^ If Pujols keeps going on his monster hitting rampage and stays healthy, he might surpass them all in our lifetimes.
JediKnight707 Posted June 3, 2006 Author Posted June 3, 2006 Man, Pujols is going cat-crazy on us. What's he got? 25? 26? Jeez! But, Bonds deserves it. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty who deserve it more, but Bonds deserves it.
Commander Obi-Wan Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Pujols will pass in like 10 years and he'll still keep pounding them out.
JediKnight707 Posted June 3, 2006 Author Posted June 3, 2006 Unless injury or the Card's are forced to trade Edmonds/Rolen, then they'll just IBB PJ.
