IG-64 Posted June 12, 2006 Author Posted June 12, 2006 Woot! It's like a cup but different! Revolve, woot! If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, that's called lathe in 3dsmax. And yes, that's the most efficient way to make a pawn.
TiE23 Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, that's called lathe in 3dsmax. And yes, that's the most efficient way to make a pawn. Lathe? Sounds sexy.
Tyrion Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Yeah, lathes look pretty sexy too. I see the words "clutch", "nut", "screw", "bed", and "chuck".
RoxStar Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I wasn't aware that I lathed anything up in making that pawn... That probably explains the poly count of 700 0_0 UPDATE: Rook and jazzed up pawn render
MrWally Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Rox, once I get back this afternoon I'm going to create an entire matching set, then I'll upload the pics and see what everyone things.
RoxStar Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Must you only reply to threads in which I have posted? :-p
IG-64 Posted June 12, 2006 Author Posted June 12, 2006 Now that we're on the subject: That was one of my first models. And it's one of the oldest models I still have. I left it exactly how it was when I first made it. That was over 3 years ago now. That model is also one of the first ones I ever rendered. I remember it took me awhile to render anything because I didn't know that's what it was called. Yeah, it took me a little longer to get stuff like that 'cause I didn't have no one to help me, you whipper snappers!
Sigundr Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 excellent work from all of you. where the hell do you get this modelling program? i would love to do stuff like this.

MrWally Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 you did the plane modelling right? Not box modelling I assume?
BongoBob Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 That looks pretty awsome RoxStar, just need to add a couple more details here and there and then add some textures to it
RoxStar Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 My primary computer has a bad case of dead power supply, so i'm modelling on my second best computer. This is for a halo mod I'm making with a few friends. Can someone point me to a tutorial/reference on how to use the chamfer/fillet tool? I want to make the top edge of this pistol more like the halo version. Mine: Bungie's:
