Mace MacLeod
No, just following my wife who got a much better-paying job here than back in BC. Better standard of living for cheaper in the part we're in. And The Simpsons will always be a classic--one of the best comedies ever to come out of the States, but I still get more laughs out of a rerun from the first few seasons that I've seen 20 times than I do out of the brand-new episodes. How do you keep the quality up for, what, 17-18 seasons? You don't. It's just become a cash cow that they won't dare let die. Family Guy took the formula and cranked it up several notches in the adult department, and Seth MacFarlane (Catholic issues aside) still has a good few years left before he gets boring IMHO. Aside from him ransacking EVERY SINGLE pop culture reference since 1975, there's a lot more "Omigod, I can't believe they did that! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!" moments per minute than the Simpsons. "How do you do, sir. Bob Crane was killed by his friend who videotaped him having rough sex." "Today, the man in white comes for me. Tomorrow, it could be you! I offer you the chance to join me in glorious battle! I know there are some of you whose motor skills are not yet developed. Sadly, you will be used as decoys. But your children and your children's children will know you fell for a glorious cause! Now who's with me?" "Ducky?" "Ah, you're useless, the whole lot of you! Very well. I shall face the man in white myself, and TO HELL with...ah....*shudder*...There. I've gone and soiled myself. Are you happy now?!" "And God said unto Abraham, 'You will kill your son Isaac.' And yay, Abraham said unto God, 'I'm sorry, I can't hear you, you'll have to speak into the microphone.' And God said, 'Oh, I'm sorry, is this better? Check check, 1-2-3, Jerry, I'm still getting a lot of hiss back here..." "Pope, the floor is not a hamper...!" "Man..!"
Diego Varen
What I like about Family Guy more than The Simpsons: Peter Griffin > Homer Simpson: Peter is fatter, dumber and funnier. And hangs out with better and funnier people. Lois Griffin > Marge Simpson: Seems a lot more involved with Episodes than Marge. Plus Lois' voice don't hurt my ears like Marge's. Stewie Griffin > Maggie Simpson: Who wouldn't like a talking baby? Stewie is also more involved than Maggie. Stewie is also the second funniest Character in Family Guy. Brian Griffin > Santa's Little Helper: Talking dogs who smoke, drink Martinies and whatever is better. Like Lois and Stewie, more involved in Episodes. Family Guy Cast > The Simpsons Cast: Family Guy has some of the funniest sub Characters. Quagmire, Mayor Adam West, Ollie the Weather Man and many more. Family Guy Episodes > The Simpsons Episodes: Family Guy Episodes are more realistic. For example, when Mr. Weed died, he stayed dead. The only Character who has stayed dead in The Simpsons is Mod Flanders. Family Guy Animation Quality > The Simpsons Animation Quality: To be honest, I prefer Family Guy's Animation to The Simpsons. Yellow people have sort of got on my nerves now.

MachineCult
Bart Simpson > Family Guy. Bart Simpson is a little girl who thinks he's a badass, he cried when he thought he lost his soul!? I personally think that the Simpsons is lame and unfunny compared with Family Guy, the Simpsons is more like a sitcom in that deals in real human emotions (IMO to it's characters detriment), whereas Family Guy is just plain funny all the time. I don't think that they are really comparable, the Simpsons is more for kids, and Family Guy is more for late teens and above, there are alot of jokes in Family Guy that a kid of Simpsons-watching-age wouldn't get. Aash Li
Simpsons has always relied on crass humour and stupidity to gets its jokes across... the animation in the early shows was horrid... anyone remember the Tracy Ullman Show? Thats where the cartoon started. But I admit to liking the Simpsons in its early years, I stopped watching it years ago when it got old and boring. Family Guy relies on crass humour and stupidity to get its jokes across too, but atleast the jokes and humour is a lot more funny. The characters have alot more depth, the plots are a bit on the random side, which makes the show wonderful. Those running gags that peter has where he says something like: "Yeah that was about as bad as the time when I did this and this" and the scene cuts to some side-skit where hes doing something ridiculous like fighting the giant chicken across town. If you find Family Guy offensive, then Seth McFarlane and his writers are doing their job correctly, it was meant to be offensive, but in a humourous way. People are too thin-skinned now days. >_> Also it requires a sense of humour to watch it. Other series you shouldn't watch if you are too serious or are easily offended: American Dad The Mind of Mencia (Ive gotten slightly offended by his gay bashing, but thats it) Buggs Bunny/Looney Toons South Park Just about anything on Comedy Central and Adult Swim. In the end, Family Guy wins big time, while Simpsons crashed and burned to a crisp years ago.

Aash Li
Drawn Together, is that the one with the cartoon charas in that bigbrother-like (un)reality show? If so, I love that cartoon. <
