Det. Bart Lasiter
Microsoft is giving away the Vista Beta 2 to anyone who wants it (you needed an MSDN subscription before). A warning though: the x86 version is over 2 Gb in size and the x64 version is 4.11 Gb in size. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/preview.mspx I have a sneaking suspicion that this is because of the Windows Vista torrent that's been available for quite some time now... Jeff
Can this just upgrade my current XP, or will I have to wipe my drive and start over?
TiE23
Silly question but can it run programs and games? Ala Firefox and stuff.

RoxStar
I downloaded it yesterday. I need to clear up some space on my other partition to install it. I have no idea why I am installing it though, I should be putting ubuntu on my other partition.
Tyrion
Uh...everyone, do not use this as your main operating system. Apparently, it's so buggy that you can't do much else besides see the effects; it crashes a lot and cannot run many applications.

Det. Bart Lasiter
Can this just upgrade my current XP, or will I have to wipe my drive and start over?Yep, you just run the disk on the Windows installation you want to upgrade. Silly question but can it run programs and games? Ala Firefox and stuff.Edit: Nevermind, Microsoft must have added Win32 support in one of the newer releases, check out this thread in Ahto. Another silly question: What is MSDN? MSDN is the Microsoft Developer's Network. Uh...everyone, do not use this as your main operating system. Apparently, it's so buggy that you can't do much else besides see the effects; it crashes a lot and cannot run many applications. The only reason I wouldn't use it as my main OS is that it can't run Win32 applications, along with the fact that I can't find the drivers for my ethernet card. It has yet to crash though. 3D-flip screenshot:
