Kind of a slow day.

Anyway, I found that JK Enhanced (don't run the patch utility, just

rename the Gob to a Goo and run it with patch commander),

works GREAT with MotS!

 

The latest version came out a few days ago and it replaces a lot

more stuff. Cool!

It's up!

 

Btw, JKEnhanced is

merely a visual mod. It gives you

higher poly model replacements and

re-textured models to give JK

a more "modern" look. It is fully compatible

in multiplayer with regular JK (or MotS).

Do NOT run the "unofficial patch" on the same

page though, as that is only for Single Player, and

will mess up your online game (word of warning!).

(yes, you'll notice a few of these shots I'm using JK Enhanced,

a graphical mod from JKhub.net, which some people told me

lagged the server a bit, so I turned it off after awhile.

Towards the end of the game here,

pretty fun. I came into the sniper nest and

took out a few people right at the end of

the game (hadn't sniped all evening).

big games, stuff like this happens

Way to go ross!

I forgot to set the score limit back

to 30 after our CTF game, so we

just played for 25 mins solid. I think

one person (cough) got a bit bored,

but we had fun. I also wanted to

give Max a chance, since he showed

up late (and I hate to end a game

when we've got four people!).

I won, but Ross iced me right at the

end, which was awesome, period.

It's up, but not sure for how much longer.

I've got work to do and people seem

to be winding things down.

 

I'll leave it up 8:45-10:15pm central

while I'm gone though, just in case

anyone wants to get in a quick game

with whomever before we close it

down for another week. ;)

love those pics Kurgan. that 1 shot with the

mod of Kyle looked freaken awesome. Obviosly

this mod is great if they add more depth graphic

wise into an old game like that. Idk if the Mod is

the problem though. Andy and Nick were both

having problems with lag even while the mod was

off so I wouldnt just trash it yet(Ahem Delete it so to speak)

True about the lag. During the CTF match I remember hearing

cries of "so much lag, so much lag" and I definately did

not have the mod going at that time.

 

The only reason the mod would lag you is if

you were running it on your end, and your comp

was not powerful enough to render the models

and textures. But if you can run Jedi Outcast,

you should have no problem running JK Enhanced,

since the models and textures are no more detailed

than that.

Agreed there Kurgan I didnt run the Mod

though maybe alittle help on that would be nice.

Do you have to edit the file before you run it on

patch commander that sort of thing? Im pretty

sure I would run it fine without lag on my end

for sure. There isp coldve been running a little slow

as well that day as well so I doubt its the mod.

Yes, running that mod (JK Enhanced) in MotS is very easy.

 

Extract the file.

 

Rename it from a Gob to a Goo.

 

(First make sure you have display file extensions on.. that is disable

"Hide file extensions of known types" in XP folder options)

 

Then rename the gob file to:

 

JKE_Models_Update.goo

 

Then load it into patch commander.

 

DO NOT UNDER RUN THE "UNOFFICIAL PATCH"

on the JK Enhanced site! You do NOT need

that to run the mod in multiplayer!

If you try to run the unofficial patch, you

will screw up your game and need to reinstall

MotS! (I know, that's what happened to me).

 

All you need is the Gob file (which you rename to

a goo) and load it in Patch Commander, enable it

and away you go! ;)

 

Another tip (hope this isn't too complicated,

re-read this post several times until you understand):

 

If you follow the above method (run with patch commander)

then if you try to edit your multiplayer characters (to change skins)

in game, IT WILL CRASH (you have to just have your characters

already set up).

 

If you want to keep changing your skins, do this:

 

Instead of loading the Goo in Patch Commander,

simply put the Goo into your Resource\ folder.

 

That way, it will load EVERY TIME you play MotS,

and you can edit your characters. They will look

"messed up" in the preview window in game, but

they will look fine while playing.

 

However, if you want to stop using JKE, just remove

the Goo file from Resource\ folder and it will be

back to normal.

(again, AVOID the "unofficial patch" even though they claim

you need it, don't use it! Also, read the directions first,

as some versions are not compatible with online JK/MotS
