i think i am ready to move onto something bigger than my small mods like recruitment, reskins ect so......

I am going to a storyline mod hopefully if some people would like to help.

Heres my basic plan:

 

Beginning/Prologue

Start as normal character on the ebon hawk

Find Secret Compartment, Has HK parts, robes ect

Make HK-1 (not HK47!!)

Fly to Coruscant

 

CORUSCANT

Become Padawan

Assignment from Jedi Council

Meet Anakin

 

ONDERON

Complete 1st Part of Assignment

 

HOTH

Join the ‘Rebel Alliance’ linked

2nd Part of Assignment

 

NAR SHADDAA

Battle of the Storm Troopers

Complete 3rd part of assignment

Fight Anakin

 

Mustafar

Complete 4th part of assignment

Fight Anakin

 

DEATH STAR

Kill Darth Sidious (Reskinned PC head)

Fight Darth Sidious’ Royal Guards

Destroy the Death Star

 

MALACHOR V

Final Fight against ???? (Mystery Jedi Master)

 

BACK TO CORUSCANT

Become Jedi Master after completing assignment

Carry on playing (side quests)

 

New Planets and Side Quests are made every so often

Darth Vader – Death Star

Master Takda – Onderon – Twi’lek

Lanos Zarron – Telos – Human

Lozul Narth – Onderon – Zabrak

Akan Leedin – Nar Shaddaa – Human

BETA testers wont be needed for a long time.

 

Hope fully I should have it fully completed with side quests by about February 2007

 

I hope so people will help with this and support the team while we make this

well the hoth will be part of master zionosis, i have already started the death star.

as the death being destroyed i dont think it is possible so i might show that death star being destoryed in the real movie as a clip if thats possible.

 

UPDATE:

instead of the death star it will be endor, and instead of the malachor V thats going to be the death star. the final boss will be darth sidious. he will be really powerful though. this storyline is going to be big and aimed IV, V, VI.

Not to be a killjoy, but I would advise getting more experience with smaller mods. Individual planets take long enough, let alone whole storylines. :)

While your ambition is admiral, Master Orran, I'm afraid it won't stand in for experience. I too suggest you start with some smaller mods...Like item manipulation to begin with, the basics of recruitment mods, simple reskins etc.

 

They may not be as exciting as a whole new storyline, but for that you do need to:

 

A) plan VERY carefully,

B) assemble a team of around 5-7 with actual modding experience,

C) a lot of modding experience

D) to not call your main villain Darth Bob. I can't stress this last one enough.

 

If you do go ahead with it, 'though, good luck :)

I will also comment that in stating Febuary 2007 as a possible release, you have sealed your own doom. NEVER EVER EVER EVER (and so on and so forth) EVER give a release date. You will NEVER keep to scheduale. A month ago I was hard into my Grey Jedi WIP, which is two planets and a spaceship, then I realised that I needed to practice scripting some more, and so have been working on smaller mods again for the time being.

 

Take heed from those with experience (or the lack of it :p), work on smaller stuff first. I've been here for about a year and have done very little, you have been here less than a month and need alot more practice before taking on a project this size.

 

My aim is not to discourage you from suceeding, but to discourage you from trying. Ignore that last statement, it was my sarcasm for the day.

i was just following the 'how to make your own storyline mod for kotor 2' tutorial and it said to give a release date.

f. Presenting a Due Date

This is probably the most simple thing to do out of all of the things in getting organized. When presenting your estimated due date to the public, DON'T. You should never tell people before you have even begun work on a mod when you are planning to release it, no matter how much they beg to know, don't say anything. Giving a due date causes troubles, it gives the public a false sence of where you are standing mod wise(they will think you are almost done). And it will cause you to be obligated to rush your mod to get it out on the time you said. Rushing a mod is ALWAYS bad and prevents a successful completion because you almost always leave something out. So if someone asks just say, its done when its done.

i have a three modder team at the moment.i know its a bit of a joke but i have only just started.

Hey Master Orran, you may wanna make another PC head like Luke or something...... course their are some of those out there on PCGameMods.com but that's down.
