Fable Cheats

Hello,

I just got Fable but I'm wondering what some useful cheats are. I especially want to know how to get a lot money and also how to stay young. I'm kind of slow at the game so I'm aging fast! Argh!

Anyway, can someone please post some useful cheats?

Thanks

To answer your 'money' question:

Fable has en balanced ecnomic system. For example. When a trader in a town has 20 Apples, and will get restocked in 7 days, you can buy all 20 off him. This will make the market turn around, and apples will become very valuable, to be exact...more valuable then what you bought them for in the first place. :) So sell your apples, and get the profit.

You can later do this using diamonds etc, for larger profit.

Keep attention to the restock days. it will take about 2 days before an item becomes 'scarse' and if it get's restocked before that, it won't work.

The second question:

You will come across the temple of Avo. Donate a large sum of money (look at gamefaqs.com for specific amount) and you'll lose some years :)

ahh, my many hours spent playing this game come into need :D

right, theres 2 not so fair ways to gain money.

1. Twinblades bandit camp. The first one you enter, there are 3 traders to the right of the steps leading up to the elite camp. Talk to the "tertiary" trader (i.e sells food and potions, not weapons or armour). Buy ALL his beer barrels of him. exit the interface, then talk to him again. Sell them back. then, buy them again. You make a very tidy profit from this, and gain lots of money in short periods of time.

2) A house. Any house will do, as long as it has 1/2/3 trophy racks. Buy the house, and place your most valuable trophies on the wall. (for ease, quick select them). Then, smash the door to the house. It's your property so the guards wont come and r**e you for it ;). Then, sell the house with your trophies in. Now walk in the house and take the trophies back. Now go and buy the house again. Each time you do this, you will earn however mucht he trophies are worth. Sneaky, but can sometimes get you that whatever it is you've been after.

As for the ageing question, sadly the temple of avo is the only way to decrease your age. Lionhead screwed the ageing system up, apparently, as i always seem to be older than "my mother" by the time i get to the prison...

There are no cheat codes for the game that I know of, but there are ways to exploit the game. One way is to begin a quest, gain some loot, hero save, and then reload the previous save. You will keep all the experience and you can get the loot twice. This works great for getting tons of silver keys. The aging thing is only cosmetic. It does not affect gameplay at all.

An add on to what jombo said, if you want easy silver keys, world save just before you enter Rose cottage in the hobbe cave quest. Then, go into the area, diig inbetween the roses and get the key. Hero save, then load that save. Repeat until you have as many as you need :D

No, hero save is activated when you are in an active quest. It saves your attributes of your hero, and any items you are carrying at the time. What it doesnt save, however, is any physical changes you have made to the fable world. You will notice it replaces the "world save" slot. World save is only activated when you are not on a quest, and any physical changes to the world made between then and your last save are saved. If that makes sense. Therefore, if you save during a quest,. it will be called "hero save". So if you were to load up that game, you would find yourselve with no active quest, but with the items you had scavanged from the last time you saved. Its hard to word correctly, but i hope you understand what i mean ;)

When you say 'active quest' you mean like those quests you get from the guild place? You know, those really important 'official' ones? Or do you mean just any quest.

EDIT: Oh, oh, I think I get it now. So when you're on an active quest, the 'world save' becomes 'hero save'? What's the shortcut for save, anyway?

Yup, you've got it. I don't know the shortcuts myself, being a hardened console player and whatnot :D

I would just kill everyone in town, buy their houses, and then rent them out. Of course, you need a decent amount of money to do that.

I think I was 3/4 into buying out the entire world of Fable when I last played. Is the game on the BC list for the 360? I think I might give it another go, but my original Xbox is... well boxed.

@SWP- you can play Fable as a BC game, but theres some horrible glitches in it in places. For instance, your characters tatoos often end up higher than they should be. As in, you get you tatoos floating above your head. also, you can sometimes get invisible enemies, which is quite frustrating when trying to do the arena...

And owning everything is a good moneymaker. Not the g@m35p33k term, but actually owning everything is good :xp:
