Kristy Kistic
I have a weapons pack mod to release and I want to (try to) make sure the model numbers will not conflict with other mods. Currently I have: g_w_sbrcrstl217.uti g_w_sbrcrstl218.uti g_w_sbrcrstl219.uti g_w_sbrcrstl220.uti g_w_sbrcrstl221.uti iw_dblsbr_217.tga iw_lghtsbr_217.tga iw_lghtsbr_218.tga iw_lghtsbr_219.tga iw_lghtsbr_220.tga iw_sbrcrstl_217.tga iw_sbrcrstl_218.tga iw_sbrcrstl_219.tga iw_sbrcrstl_220.tga iw_sbrcrstl_221.tga w_lghtsbr_217.mdl w_dblsbr_217.mdx w_dblsbr_217.mdl w_lghtsbr_217.mdx w_lghtsbr_218.mdl w_lghtsbr_218.mdx w_lghtsbr_219.mdl w_lghtsbr_219.mdx w_lghtsbr_220.mdl w_lghtsbr_220.mdx g_w_dsrptrfl217.uti iw_dsrptrfl_217.tga w_dsrptrfl_217.tga w_dsrptrfl_217.mdl w_dsrptrfl_217.mdx All I'm asking is if anyone knows of someone else's mod that uses any of these variations. Kainzorus Prime
That would be really hard to check...there are lots of good saber mods people download...
stoffe
Which of the games, KotOR or TSL, is this for? If it is the latter the MDL, MDX and TGA files for the sabers are used by the Ultimate Saber Mod.

T7nowhere
For a couple of my K1 mods I have used the model vars from 199-250 for w_lghtsbr_xxx models and 199-213 and 250-251 for w_dblsbr_xxx. For TSL and USM I think we hogged all the numbers from 100-255. Although there are a couple gaps in between that were not used.
Kristy Kistic
What about the numbers that are less than 100 then? Might these be available?
Arátoeldar
I know that the two Kyle Katarn lightsaber mods uses 78 and 79.
Shem
I know that J3d1W4rr10R's movie saber models use numbers between 80-99 for TSL.
RedHawke
For TSL My Exile's Sabers use models 69 through 77 for all 3 saber types. The Prestiege Sabers that Maverick187 made use 60 - 64 I believe. For K1 My Revan sabers use models 94 - 99. The Lightsaber Pack that Maverick187 and I worked on I don't recall what models were used. Darkkender
I know alot of the numbers are taken up in the Holowan Plugin for TSL as they incorporate Mav and Redhawke's sabers aswell as my crystal expansion mod. I can't recall the range on the crystal expansion mod however the 20's & 30's come to mind. I might suggest looking at the upcrystals.2da from the Holowan Plugin as that should give you an idea of the actual range's used by various saber mods so far. That is if your looking to make your mod compatible. I'll looking through the archive tonight and try to come up with a more comprehensive list of the model ranges used. I can't recall the range on the crystal expansion mod however the 20's & 30's come to mind. The only thing about using the model numbers in the 20's and 30's is to be aware of the crystal numbers. The numbers for the TGA files go pretty high in the game by default, even higher than 30 if I remember right. That's just if you want your crystal TGA file number to be the same as the model number if you are one of those people who like to do that. You may want to look into the 50's since you're just using five files. Just a thought!

Your crystal numbers don't need to match your model numbers for sabers unless your refering to the default number of sabers in the game. If your refering to the games actual default numbers for sabers they only go up to 10 or 11. However here is the full list of saber model numbers used in the [TSL]Holowan Plugin 1.03-1.05 patched. Consider all saber model numbers under 11 to be replacement of default saber models. Doublesabers: 11, 20-30, 60-64, 69-77, & 89 Lightsabers: 1-3, 5, 8, 11, 13, 20-30, 32-33, 35, 52, 59, 61-64, 69-77, & 89 Short Sabers: 11, 20-29, 58, 60-62, 64, 69-77, & 89 Numbers above that match with Redhawke & Mav's number's would be the models that they have done. I'm glad to be aware of Arátoeldar & Shem's numbers as they could pose possible future conflicts for the new version of the [TSL]Holowan Plugin. Kristy Kistic
So far it looks like the 50's might be a safe place then. Unless anyone else knows something?
Darkkender
So far it looks like the 50's might be a safe place then. Unless anyone else knows something? Not that I'm aware of however I will be aproaching Lightsaber models first as part of the new Plugins merging and would be glad to work with you on potential compatibility clashes. On second look at the above numbers 50's have 2 lightsaber and one short saber model. However there appears to be none in the 40's.

I missed that on first look, however there is still some room in the 50's that would be usable. Or the 40's. doesn't matter. The thing is, I've made them work for both games and I would like to keep the numbers the same for both games. (Makes life easier on me.) So does that mean that a portion of the 50's or possibly all of the 40's would be available for K1, too?

The only one that I know that uses a number in that range is the Jolee Doublesaber mod. It uses #54.
Shem
Your crystal numbers don't need to match your model numbers for sabers unless your refering to the default number of sabers in the game. If your refering to the games actual default numbers for sabers they only go up to 10 or 11.I think you misunderstood me. I realize that color crystals do not have to match up with the saber model numbers because both KOTOR games by default do not do that. The default blue lightsaber uses the #1 saber model, yet the #14 color crystal in both KOTOR games. Anyway, my point is the color crystals and attribute crystals have a higher number count by default than the actual saber model number. In TSL, it goes really high. The highest crystal TGA number by default is 49, and that is the Qixoni crystal. So if Kristi decided to use #49 as one of her color crystals, people who would use the Qixoni crystal would have Kristi’s color crystal artwork override Qixoni’s artwork. Basically what I'm saying is that people tend to use the same crystal number as their saber number. Just look at the Ultimate Saber Mod or T7's WotOR mod as examples if needed to. So if you want to use your saber number as your crystal number, you'll have to start at #50 if you do not want to override any of the TGA files in the game in TSL. I think #21 might be the highest crystal number in K1 by default, but I would have to check and I don't feel like doing that right now. I also didn't want to go into this much detail, but I also feel like I need to be understood.
