KOTOR III Needs more blasters!

Go ahead, be sarcastic if you want, but I'm not. I would like it. Say you're on this planet with a large Exchange presence and you get captured. They take your weapons, so you only have your fists and a blaster you pick up off a guy you just killed to escape.
But did you see the outrage when players didn't start with a lightsaber in the first two games? Imagine what they'll say when you take it away from them once they have it!!

My job as moderator would be overwhelming! :D

Well, I wasn't one of those people who was mad about that. In fact, I rather liked it, but I guess the needs of the many is more important the needs of the individual (in many cases :)).

I had no problem with Bioware taking away my saber during the plot twist section of the game. Nor did I have a problem with starting out either game without a saber.

Well, I don't mind starting the game w/o a lightsaber. But once you give that saber to me, there is no way in hell you should take it away!!!

I don't mind missions where you have to use a few specific side characters, in fact, I quite enjoy them. The action where atton play with the twins is quite interesting(although I would like to play with them other ways!) so did the mira section. I wish they have kept the HK section as well, cause that one kicks butt.

I am definitely in the minority that supports not starting with a lightsaber. Things are much less enjoyable if you don't have to earn them. I do, however, have issues with how they implemented the rewards in both games, but I would much prefer not starting with a lightsaber. Also, it really would make no sense, or difficult to make sense, if the player was immediately given one.

The problem I had with the payoff is that in every movie, every book, lightsabers are meant to be a rare and wonderful thing, the product of time and skill, completely personalized to each user. In the games, you waited all this time to make a lightsaber, and in the end, you create... the same lightsaber that everyone else has, in what appears to be a matter of minutes. Extremely poor way of rewarding the player, and something that I hope is finally fixed in K3.

In all honesty, my favorite part of the otherwise abysmal Jedi Academy was the level where you lose your lightsaber. It was the first time, in that game, where I felt any sort of connection to the character (in my case a blue female Twi'lek), because it's the first time in the game where you're forced to go inside their head and see things from their perspective (It didn't help that that level had better design and more of a plot than the entire rest of the game). Anyway, losing your lightsaber made you not take it for granted, and getting it back gave you a clear goal.

I really don't think that K3 needs more blasters. K2 had more than enough, and had them balanced out to the point where it was still viable to use them if you didn't want to use a lightsaber. The only things K3 needs to do is to fix the range on the blasters (I understand why they are how they are in K1 and K2, but it isn't very believable. Giving them a longer range would also make them more appealing to use), and have more varied models.

It so much rewarding when you manage to get/build/find one lightsaber, I dont mind starting without one.

That random generator is really crap. I mean, refugees, poor people, and beast-riders, all could reward you with a lighsaber "they found buried on their garden".

I think the Minority is actually a majority here.

I'm fine without having a lightsaber. In K1 and K2, you start off as nobodies (for K1, you are a Republic soilder, for K2, you are a Jedi Exile), and so, no Lightsaber was needed.

But, once you have that Lightsaber, never, NEVER taken it away from me.

A planet hopping plot that revolves around a new range of blaster weaponry could be included. Republic upgrade or something. Dark Side option could be gun running for gangsters. Concequences could be run-ins with various sides with the new weaponry.
