...So how do i macro?

hey all.

 

As expected, i've made a character toon on galaxies. And it's taking AGES to level up. So i heard about these fangly macro things, and they ain't user friendly. So i was wondering if someone could explain to me in an idioy-proof way how the hell you make one of them to craft stuff when i'm asleep?

well, macros don't help you level up faster (i think), they just assign abiliteys to keys? I think?

Macros, so i am led to believe, basically loop commands. I want to use it, like many others do, to leave my computer on overnight while my toon crafts his heart away levewling me up.

oh yeah, they get annoying when people just keep on shouting the same advert over and over outside mos eisly spaceport.

Macros are basically used to annoy people, Advertise, and/or for Ents, and Crafters to level up while they are AFK.

so you can't set your character in an area of womp rats to auto attack? !

lol no, thats disallowed anyway. they allow it for crafters and entertainers, or so i have read and seen, but not for any combat related thing, as that can disruupt other peoples gameplay

Macro's are ways of setting up a sequence of runnable commands. Yes, traders do it for adverts, entertainers make chorographed dances/songs with them and some combat professions put them to use as well (prone, sniper shot, stand). Can you set it to automatically craft for you? NO, that is just wrong IMO. BUT it can make crafting easier by looping an endless clicking session. Look up that information on the official forums, it can be very helpful for the crafter grind.
