razorace Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Say, what's the filename for the main menu music? I want to try hearing it in game. EDIT: NVM. I figured it out. Unfortunately it's not at the right bitrate to play ingame, but we'll get that figured out soon.

Because of the way it started, I kept expecting it to break into a rendition of that starwars song that is on the new main menu at the moment. While I think the idea of a new song completely is intreging, the purest side of me is having a hard time excepting something non starwars based for the menu. I don't know, its very well done and it sounds starwars enough I guess. Its awesome that you found someone nice enough to make that. If I had more time, I wouldn't mind adding some guitar work to that if he let me, but my recording equipment sucks anyways. It would be hard to add it with those orchestra instruments too. Metallica S&M ftw!

razorace Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 UDM, great work getting Jed to help us out! I just checked his website and he's got more credits than I do! I'm really impressed with his work too. It manages to be star warsy, very modern, unique, and very approprate for menu use. The only critic I have is that I'm not a fan of the burst of organ music during the opening build @ :08 secs. I really like organ music, but in this burst just too fast and sudden IMO. Maybe if it was expanded out to be thru the whole opening? That being said, I'm not a music person by ANY measure, so I think his judgement on this is what matters. Anyway, if he's interested, I believe the personal duel music could be redone since I think it is something that is shared between all maps and starts when the duel starts. Can someone remember if this is true? Anyway, some unique OJP duel music could totally rock. But, I can understand if he's finished with contributing since everyone has to make a livin'. Along those lines, how does he want credit for this? Does he have a small web banner or something that we could post on the credits and website to show special recognization for his work?

UMD great job finding this guy and getting him to compose this for us

razorace Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 The default is "music music/t2_dpred/ImpBaseB_Action" but you can alter the main.menu in the ui/jamp asset dir if you don't want to overwrite the ingame music for t2_dpred.
