shadow_judge Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 While wandering on Youtube, I saw Monkey Island movie made by Lego. And I think, this stuff is great, so why can't we use Lego to recreate a Grim Fandango movie? I am pretty good at Lego, but I've never tried to make a stop-motion film before. I hope someone could make Grim Fandango by Lego, then it was very cool. I think it's not really hard.... Any idea?
Du Man Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 can you find the link again on Youtube and post it here?
shadow_judge Posted August 12, 2007 Author Posted August 12, 2007 What do you mean? Nobody did a Grim Fandango Lego, but many people did a Monkey Island Lego theme movie. So I ask everyone to make a Grim Fandango movie... sounds pretty cool, right? I think it's not too hard to do it, but, the only thing is, we have to make a Manny's skull by drawing on a blank white head... maybe?
shadow_judge Posted August 12, 2007 Author Posted August 12, 2007 I watched it... In my opinion, this is pretty sucks. I don't feel the theme of Monkey Island, somehow.
Sallim Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 shall we...dance? oh well it doesnt look that bad. A movie in this style would be nice, but its alot of work too. I would rather like to have have a funny flash movie like this ( maybe very old and already known! ) http://www.majusarts.de/film/monkey/ENG/monkey_eng.html
Colossal Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 hmmm not a bad idea but I will need dozen of lego skeletons figures
DeadYorick Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 You can just paint over regular lego figures. The problem is you would have to be a very experienced painter to do that. Anyway GF lego would be pretty cool to see
Colossal Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 that's a good idea but what about Manny's head? adding extra brick on the head will look similar but sloppy... any ideas? Any volunteers on getting involved?
Du Man Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 put some paper tape round the middle? I bet there's a long white cylinder some where in the lego collection.
Colossal Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 that should do the trick, when I have some free time I'll search for the lost lego box
Colossal Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 can anyone help with something? I cant find frontal shot on Manny's head for Eva will be a bonus
Sven_Q45 Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Interesting. But the charakters in GF are still square. Lol, look at this:
urluckyday Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I'd understand it if I took one more year of German...
Colossal Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 can anyone help with something? I cant find frontal shot on Manny's head for Eva will be a bonus ok I drew Manny's head but I have trouble with Eva's head any help will be appreciated
James Isaac Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Something which I think would be very impressive would be if someone could recreate some of the scenes/architecture from Grim Fandango. It could be done relatively easy with one of those computer programs for designing lego models (can't remember what they're called...) but would take a lot of patience.
Colossal Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 I started recreating Manny's office couple of days ago I hope all will go smooth
urluckyday Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 best of luck...make sure that you post a pic or two of the final product
Sven_Q45 Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 I'd understand it if I took one more year of German... Off-Topic. Just a little question: Where are you from?
Sven_Q45 Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Yes, i know. But where? UK, USA, Australia, France? UK, i think... (?)
