Alexander the Great Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but check this out. Stereotypes for the win!
HerbieZ Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Must be some American thing. I don't get it.
Darth InSidious Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 ...Nor do I. By-the-by, racism? Forfeit's your right to be considered intelligent life.
Alexander the Great Posted September 16, 2007 Author Posted September 16, 2007 It isn't racism. It's a stereotype. Racism is denoting a race and thinking one race is superior to another. Stereotypes are generalizing a race or group as having a certain quality. Yeah, it's pretty much an American thing. Even though it really ruins the joke since I have to explain it, black people are stereotyped to love chicken. KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) is being closed. You do the math.
Achilles Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 It isn't racism. It's a stereotype. Regardless of which hairs we intend to split, it was in poor taste and not very humorous. My 2 cents.
Master Zionosis Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Ok, I didn't find that very funny even knowing the reason behind it, maybe I'm just dull
Alexander the Great Posted September 16, 2007 Author Posted September 16, 2007 Regardless of which hairs we intend to split, it was in poor taste and not very humorous. My 2 cents. It wasn't intended to be taken seriously at all (I don't like stereotypes if they're being used seriously), but I respect your opinion.
Diego Varen Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Ok, I didn't find that very funny even knowing the reason behind it, maybe I'm just dull Don't worry, fellow UK member, I believe that everyone who hasn't found this funny or doesn't get it are from the UK. Although I admit the guy from Star Trek (I don't watch it) who was shaking was a bit funny.
Jae Onasi Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Sorry guys, but it's racist. I'm locking the thread.
stoffe Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Don't worry, fellow UK member, I believe that everyone who hasn't found this funny or doesn't get it are from the UK. I didn't get it, and I'm not from the UK. I like chicken. Never heard of that particular brand before though.
