Marius Fett
Here we go again... Another tutorial. This one is what I like to call Saber Hilt Modelling for Idiots I know t7 has a tut out and Quanon recently just released a billiant one but heres my take on it. Very precise like my other ones so even the biggest n00b should be able to make a decent stab at it at least. Also be sure to download my UVWMapping tutorial aswell. It was written specifically for saber hilts and comes with a model included for practice. If a moderator thinks it's appropriate could they put this in tutorials please? LORD SPARTAN
Could you make a tutorial on customising the position of the hand and the blade (plane#) for idiots, for exemple: if you want to grap the hilt at the lower of it and now you have to position the planes if you want the plade to fit with the hilt. For idiots like me it would be very usefull.

For idiots like me it would be very usefull. If I'm correct the PivotPoint determines ( spelling ) where the hand graps the hilt. So if you want the player to grab closer to the budd of the hilt, you could do this in the part where you RIG the hilt : Instead of using the Align tool to... well align the PivotPoint of your NEW hilt with the Old Hilts Piv Point=> Use the MoveTool and (ONLY at Z-axis) move the PivotPoint downwards where you want it. Then just do the rest of ResetXform and linking. And theres an 60% chance of succes , haven't test it myself, but I'm positive I've read this somewhere on an old thread here on Holowan. Turns out I did that tut all wrong so I need to start learning to map all over again. I removed the link from my site and from LucasForums so it no longer exists. If you're tryin to learn how to UVWMap try looking at Quanon's tutorial.
