There are some weird versions floating around in the UK. I remember that Curse of Monkey Island was released in a regular-colour DVD case, and Hit the Road and Day of the Tentacle were originally re-released in a single DVD. These days if I see CMI it's exactly the same except the artwork has been modified - a sort of sepia toned version - and Sam & Max Hit the Road has an individual release. I think the latter is because it was included in the 'LucasArts Entertainment Pack', which had Grim Fandango, The Dig, Full Throttle and Hit the Road. Day of the Tentacle seems to be completely unavailable now, as it wasn't released individually and the double-pack with Hit the Road was superceded by the individual release.

The collector in me wanted to snap up those versions whilst they were still around, but I decided that would have been crazy.

That post sounded really complicated, so I went and found the images. This is the release order, I think:

Original CMI

Hit the Road & Day of the Tentacle double

New, faded CMI

Hit the Road single

Of these, the original-colour CMI release seems to be the hardest to find if you want to buy it - although it's quite possible people will sell it on eBay and use the faded image just because it's such a minor difference, and the faded image is easier to find.

Edit: Also I've just realised that there must be two versions of the Hit the Road DVD release because the one in the image has the new LucasArts logo (this must be the 2007 release, Vista compatible) whereas the one I own has the classic gold-guy logo.

Sorry for the overkill, but the information will probably come in useful to someone... somewhere.

Photography is his professional hobby. His pictures became famous in 1991 after the publication of his postcards and calendars with young males posing nude. He has published many gay themed photo-albums. He is known to recruit models by giving his business-card to people at restaurants, on the street, and in discos.

So, who's going to meet him at E3? ;

Hey, looky looky: http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=18112

I don't think we'll see much in the way of old franchises being resurrected though: "I couldn’t be more excited to join such a dynamic and innovative company as LucasArts. The people are world class and the IP is the best in the business. To be able to work with such cultural icons as Star Wars and Indiana Jones and develop new franchises is like a dream come true."

Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and... new franchises. No mention of anything else.

Edit: Also, there's a press release.
