Surely you must realise that in the current political climate, Cameron's Conservatives would do exactly the same thing? This doesn't change my opinion of who I'm voting for at all. Who am I voting for? Oh... I'm spoiling my ballot. This is still only a plan. It could well get shot down yet. Never thought I'd be happy to say this but: the Lords will never let it through. This doesn't change my opinion of who I'm voting for at all. But for many it will add to the pile of "what I don't like about brown/labour". Who am I voting for? LIAYD, get a tuner card/usb stick for your pc and turn your pc into a PVR(like TiVo). You'll never miss a show again, and keep it in crisp high def If you have vista, you can use its inbuilt media center app, otherwise can use the wonderful open source app called MediPortal. I now have 6 Terabytes of storage, all my movies and cds are digitally stored on a central server, and have about 1TB free for recording (up to 1000 hours if maxed out) OT: If my ISP did this, I definitely would seek alternative solutions. Lobbyists and other "neutral and impartial" persons that evaluate the results of such a legislation could give our local governments some ideas. They could point at Britain and say:"Look, they did it and it works!" It gives them a credible example, better then:"Look, China does it and it works!" SilentScope001 Posted February 15, 2008 Share Posted February 15, 2008 One thing that COULD convince you guys to support this ban on pirates is this: If this project is succesful, and we can ban pirates, then this means we may be able to have the government target greifer groups and trolls too. Government resources can help make our mods' jobs easier in tracking down trollers, and MMOs no longer have to deal with gankers or those posting obscene pictures. Think what would happen if a presisent /b/ vandal gets kicked off the Internet. So why not? Why not pull this off? This can help the general community, and save the Mods' time. Uh, please?
