as a student, i use a number of different productivity suites:

Office 07 (on the few computers in the lab that actually have 07)

Office 03

Open Office (2.2)

i also use a suite just for programming:

MS Visual Studio 05

and finally the one for my web site design class:

MS Expressions (earlier versions are known as Front Page)

lolz... it seems ''productivity suite'' is a poxy way of saying "office proggie"

I use Office 2007 at home, outlook most heavily, with a bit of word, excel and publisher. I use windows mobile device center to sync it with my PDA. I love the new format and layout in office 2007.

At work they have Office 2003, and I have used open office merely to check it out, and recommend it is a viable free option for those that don't want to pay for commercial proggies.

^^yeah, online word processing is getting bigger all the time. Its just a matter of time before every damn thing will be online >> you wont need to buy a disc>install>use.

This goes for games too. Once net speeds have reached phenomenal speeds, we'll be playing crysis like java pong :D It is the way of the future I says!

Futurz is we need no computer anymore. On big mother mainframe sends all stuff into our brains via satellite uplink. Porn will be like real sex, except maybe you might not notice that you just ejected your stuff on top of god knows where while you sit in the middle of an important meeting with your boss although you thought it was little Miss Sexey from the sales dept.

I fear the future for that very reason...I'm a bit of an old school guy myself (if you can call old-school yet)...I enjoy actually buying a physical product. Just nice to know that it's always there in case I want to put it somewhere else instead of it being in the clouds...

I don't know, I can understand that people want a free alternative to the Office system, and Open Office is good start, but there's just something about the paid "premium" versions of a productivity suite that free alternatives don't have. They're just a lot nicer in quality, look, ease of use, etc. That's just me though...
