urluckyday
Do you use a productivity suite? If so, what? Please place your vote in the poll and explain why you use something or don't use something else, etc. I personally use Office 2007.
stingerhs
as a student, i use a number of different productivity suites: Office 07 (on the few computers in the lab that actually have 07) Office 03 Open Office (2.2) i also use a suite just for programming: MS Visual Studio 05 and finally the one for my web site design class: MS Expressions (earlier versions are known as Front Page)
Astrotoy7
lolz... it seems ''productivity suite'' is a poxy way of saying "office proggie" I use Office 2007 at home, outlook most heavily, with a bit of word, excel and publisher. I use windows mobile device center to sync it with my PDA. I love the new format and layout in office 2007. At work they have Office 2003, and I have used open office merely to check it out, and recommend it is a viable free option for those that don't want to pay for commercial proggies. mtfbwya
Sabretooth
Office 2007, though I don't really use it very often - my sister has more use of it, working on Word documents and PowerPoint and such. Though sometimes, if I'm a bit lazy, I just use Adobe's Buzzword for some quick writing (it's fancy enough to be good ).
Astrotoy7
^^yeah, online word processing is getting bigger all the time. Its just a matter of time before every damn thing will be online >> you wont need to buy a disc>install>use. This goes for games too. Once net speeds have reached phenomenal speeds, we'll be playing crysis like java pong It is the way of the future I says! mtfbwya
Ray Jones
Futurz is we need no computer anymore. On big mother mainframe sends all stuff into our brains via satellite uplink. Porn will be like real sex, except maybe you might not notice that you just ejected your stuff on top of god knows where while you sit in the middle of an important meeting with your boss although you thought it was little Miss Sexey from the sales dept. I wasnt projecting the forecast that far ahead we mentioned something about this in another thread once .... I wonder if my hippocampus is 1337 enough to run crysis in UHD mtfbwya
urluckyday
I fear the future for that very reason...I'm a bit of an old school guy myself (if you can call old-school yet)...I enjoy actually buying a physical product. Just nice to know that it's always there in case I want to put it somewhere else instead of it being in the clouds...
Serpentine Cougar
Open Office, because it's free and can save to Microsoft Office formats so you can still distribute your files in common formats.
Negative Sun
MS Office 2002 I think, I don't really use it often though, maybe once or twice a week to do some word editing...I've downloaded Open Office 2.2 but never really got round to using it because, you guessed it, I don't need to use it that often. urluckyday
I don't know, I can understand that people want a free alternative to the Office system, and Open Office is good start, but there's just something about the paid "premium" versions of a productivity suite that free alternatives don't have. They're just a lot nicer in quality, look, ease of use, etc. That's just me though...
