NeutronHInc
Out of all the games, movies, comics, etc... StarWars Kotor is the one title that I simply don't see Heavy Weaponry for. Oh sure it is an RPG and you have the Rapid and Power Shots, but... Where's the "Half Mini-Gun Half Heavy Blaster Rifle" that fires some 2000 "rounds" per second? Where's all the Flame Throwers, Jango/Boba had one, and even the DRIODS have one! Where's the "Ion Cannon" (for lack of a better name, sort of like a Rocket Launcher, only with massive Blaster "rounds")? The Jedi Knight series had some Heavy Weapons, so why not Kotor? One would think that you would be able to use heavy weapons while running around Taris Undercity, and not just Grenades. Come on, the Baragwin Heavy Repeating Blaster is large enough to fire 1000 times faster then it does. I want some heavy weapon, high rate of fire, mayhem! Just for the joy of it! Inyri
The Jedi Knight series had some Heavy Weapons, so why not Kotor?First of all, Jedi Knight series is an FPS and KotOR is an RPG -- having a gun that fired 2000 rounds a second would make the game pretty silly and pointless, don't you think? Even if a Jedi blocked 80% of those shots, they'd be toast. Also there is a flame thrower -- it's just usable by droids. In the end I think something like this would just ridiculously unbalance the game. Not to mention I'm uncertain that it's possible.

In the end I think something like this would just ridiculously unbalance the game. Not to mention I'm uncertain that it's possible. Well, I did point that out. (Nobody seems to fully read things these days, no offense intended.) I pointed out that Kotor was an RPG. I pointed out that the Droids had a Flame Thrower. I also knew that it would "unbalance" the game, though I didn't point that out, because I didn't feel the need to. I thought people would read and think to themselves; "Yeah, that might make for some insane joy for a while!" and offer more options... Why can't somebody want a "silly" mod every now and then? Do all mods made for a game HAVE to be soo serious? I remember some insanely funny mods made for StarCraft, NWN, and a few other games. Why not Kotor as well? Having a massive repeating blaster rifle would be a little fun, for a while at least. If not an insanely over-powered high rate of fire rifle purely for the sake if insanity and fun, why not a personal flame thrower at least? Surely it can't be that hard to get to work, maybe not a 100%, but at least 75% of the time. Why not add a "Lunatic" to Upper Taris? Some guy running in circles ranting, raving, and yelling doomsday prophecies. (Sure, you already have that Idiot on the corner yelling his 'Anti-Alien' stuff.) I may be insane, but at least I'm not crazy. BIG difference between those two.

And if you simply want to be able to own things and run around in god mode, there are simpler solutions than pumping 2000 rounds a second into a Sith. And if you simply want to be able to own things and run around in god mode, there are simpler solutions than pumping 2000 rounds a second into a Sith. Now who said anything about wanting to run around in god mode owning everything? All one would need to do for that is create a custom item that gave 100% immunity against every type of damage. But that's not where I was going with this topic... I was just wondering why other RPGs (well, sort of a cross between RPG and FPS now that I think about it) have slight heavy weapons and Kotor was the only one that didn't. Even some MMOs have heavy weaponry, or close to it anyway. In any case, it was just one of many random thoughts I have on an hourly basis. Though I would like to see new types of weapons for Kotor. I know modding Kotor is not as easy as other games out there, but surely, somebody is bound to figure it out sooner or later. Going through these forums, for a while nobody knew how to add new areas/modules to Kotor, but somebody found out how and since then a few new areas have been made for K1 and TSL from what I've read here. So why not new weapons given time? Or new mini-games? etc... If I've offended you, I apologize.

They apparently simply don't live up to your definition. That doesn't mean it doesn't have heavy weapons. If you're looking for something specific you ought to request it in the appropriate forum rather than asking why something doesn't exist when it does. Quanon
Well, I see your points. Forget I brought it up. I once tried to make a sort of mini-gun, well rather the effect of a zillion blaster bolts flying out of the gun. Saddly adding more bullet hooks, didn't do the trick... Anyway I know SithSpecter is on to something with Rockets, Heavy enough ?
DarthJebus05
I thought he released rockets with his WW2 area mod. Maybe I'm wrong.
Sithspecter
I'm working on a mod that adds three more classes of weapons in my spare time. It's going to add a rocket launcher, sniper rifle, and a grenade launcher to KotOR. You have to create a new model for the rockets, but I'm not sure about blaster bolts. xrefusex
To be honest, I'd rather see 'real life' street-crime weapons, like flick-knives, baseball-bats and molotov coctails. Maybe reskin urban zones in all planets to include grafitti everywhere too. That'd be wicked.

Also, if you check in a few days time, you'll find a baseball bat made by yours truly.

I do like the baseball bat though! Think about it, "The Gran Baseball Team!"
Darth Payne
There could also be some on the Dantooine landing pad. Couldn't there? I mean, a lot of the people there seemed angry or grumpy.

xrefusex
Fair point about GTA, although I was thinking more along the lines of Manhunt! Hell, we could probably hire Brian Cox to some voice-overs...
