Marius Fett
Hello canderis! First, to be able to help you, we'll need to know what kind of model it is you're editing, and what you're trying to do to it. Post that info, and i'll see if I can't help you out. Canderis
well i am editing the file n_darthrevan.mdl and what i did was removed all the stuff except the cape and i want to make it into a new item for a mod
Marius Fett
Urmm... Pffft... I'm not an expert on body models i'm afraid... You could try making the cape into a helmet/mask model, and putting it quite low down so it would look like your PC was wearing it...
Inyri
Would look bad as it would move every time your character turned their head.
Canderis
well just tell me how to export it so i can do the rest
Marius Fett
You have to make sure it's an emesh, you need to resetXforms (in the NWMax Pallette) then link to the AuroraBase. (YOU MUST RESETXFORMS BEFORE LINKING.) Also, if you move your object after linking, you have to de-link do xforms again then relink. Before you do those steps though, put your model in the right place, relative to an existing game model of the same type. @Inyri: It was just a suggestion. I am not a character modeller, as such I was commenting and making a suggestion going by the knowledge and ideas I myself have. If you have a better idea, then gp ahead and post it. Inyri
And I was just telling him why your suggestion is bad. Take a chill pill.

Marius Fett
And I was just telling him why your suggestion is bad. Take a chill pill. I never said it was perfect, but it's better than nothing. @canderis: The AuroraBase, it's the blue box underneath the model.
Inyri
I never said it was perfect, but it's better than nothing. That's debatable.
Marius Fett
Inyri, don't try to turn this into an arguement, this guy in new here, looking for help, and from this thread, the impression he must be getting is that all people here do is fight. Not a good start for him.
ChAiNz.2da
Inyri, don't try to turn this into an arguement, this guy in new here, looking for help, and from this thread, the impression he must be getting is that all people here do is fight. Not a good start for him. Agreed. Let's stick to topic peeps and let's help canderis with his problem @ canderis You might want to check with these 2 tutorials in particular, especially since your dealing with body models http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=143293 http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=151385 Modeling can be tricky at first with KotOR as there are some pre-preps required for some of the tools we use. Make sure you perform those before just creating a model and trying to bring it in to KotOR/TSL. Aurora base model editing without "licensed" toolsets are a pain. Thankfully some of our members here are good at tinkering Also, be sure to review our Modeling Tips thread here: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=184825 It contains some very helpful hints on what tools to use and which versions. Some other modeling tools will be required (MDLOps for sure) http://www.starwarsknights.com/tools.php#skmo If you have anymore questions, let us know
Marius Fett
Also, there are several excellent modelers here at SWK. If you want specific advice, some of the people i'd advise speaking to are Quanon, Sithspecter, Doc Valentine, oldflash (he isn't around much though) and maybe Inyri too. (I don't think she's an expert with body models) :l
