CommanderQ Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Here's a sketch that I did a little while ago. This is my idea of what a Sith Mandalorian might be. Leave some feedback so I can improve, please! uh oh, I'm not sure it came out...
LordOfTheFish Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 It's not showing up. Try uploading it onto Photo Bucket again.
CommanderQ Posted November 6, 2008 Author Posted November 6, 2008 I think that's what I'm having trouble with, do you know how to upload? I might need a bit of help.
LordOfTheFish Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 You can post it in your album here on LF easily. Otherwise, unless you can get the picture to someone who knows how to upload it, your sunk.
CommanderQ Posted November 6, 2008 Author Posted November 6, 2008 That's assuring...I think I may know what to do. Ah hahahahahaha! I got it! What have I told you about double posting? >:3
LordOfTheFish Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 That's very good. I like it a lot Keep it up
CommanderQ Posted November 12, 2008 Author Posted November 12, 2008 Whelp, here's another sketch I finished, so enjoy!! This is a picture of one of the many Mandalorian battles, this one, I don't have an exact location. But, here you go, Mandos killing Republic troops, and so on.
LordOfTheFish Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Now that, is cool. Very nice work, Commander!
CommanderQ Posted November 12, 2008 Author Posted November 12, 2008 Thanks LordoftheFish and Darth Hanhar! There will probably more in the coming days, I've been drawing alot. So, next one soon!
Rev7 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Not bad, not bad at all. I look forward to more!
Alkonium Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Looks great! You should try adding colour!
CommanderQ Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 Thanks, I'll probably add color eventually, but right now the best material I have is color pencils, so it may take awhile.
Chevron 7 locke Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 I like em. They show Mandalorians. And mandalorians are good
CommanderQ Posted November 18, 2008 Author Posted November 18, 2008 Well, here is the first concept design for a female Mandalorian Jedi, haven't been working on many sketches lately, due to being very busy. So without further ado, I present, CONCEPT 1! ENJOY!
Alkonium Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Nice, but to be honest, it really looks more like a male mandalorian with a very feminine face. Just a bit of constructive criticism.
CommanderQ Posted November 18, 2008 Author Posted November 18, 2008 True, I need to work on my female drawings, not an expert in that area right now. It's alot easier to draw males than females. Mandalorians are also known to look very alike with armor on, but thanks for the critiscm.
LordOfTheFish Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Yeah, it's definitely a good start. I'll agree with Alkonium about it looking more like a male, but that's not to hard to fix, just mess around with it. Also, try and make the legs a little longer, and thin the body out if possible.
CommanderQ Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 Thanks for the advice guys! I'll try out these adjustments in concept 2, though that may take awhile, maybe a week at the most, hopefully not, we'll see.
LordOfTheFish Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I did a little research for you, and found this. Video 1: http://www.graspr.com/videos/Female-face-3-4th-view-Head-and-face-basics-1 The 1st in a 4 part video series on drawing the female face.
CommanderQ Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 Thanks Fish, I'll take a look at it.
Bee Hoon Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Well, as the other posters have mentioned, it does look pretty masculine. I'd say that the build is very masculine, and how stocky she seems adds to the effect. It's very hard for a woman to build much upper body bulk without generous consumption of protein shakes and lots of weight training. As LordOfTheFish mentioned, try to thin out the legs and the body. The female body does have curves, and as such, trying to cram one into male armour would be really uncomfortable Besides that, females tend to have smaller jaws, and artists usually draw them with fuller lips. The eyes are oddly angular, and the nose is kinda high up. I love her gear though! Especially the wrist-knife :3
