Yar-El
Article - Armageddon? Church retails to the masses This religious sect has kept a stocked bomb shelter deep in a forest CORWIN SPRINGS, Montana - They're still ready for Armageddon at the Church Universal and Triumphant, a religious sect that for almost two decades has kept a bomb shelter stocked for 750 people deep in a forest near Yellowstone National Park. Church leader Elizabeth Clare Prophet has been silenced by advanced Alzheimer's disease. And her followers say they've given up the assault rifles and armored vehicles they amassed in the late 1980s — part of a post-nuclear war "re-emergence" plan that brought national notoriety and a federal investigation. I smell something hidden in the water.
CommanderQ
Oy, that's strange, obviously, they haven't read much the last books of the Bible... "Guess what! I'm going to form my own private military to fight in Armageddon with, hahahahahah! And survive nuclear warfare!! Ha! I don't even know if nukes are going to be involved!" Tis' an interesting ideal these people have...
jrrtoken
This whole thing reminds me of a Fallout-esque scenario. At least they're not like the bomb cult from Beneath the Planet of the Apes, then we'd all be screwed.
Q
I smell something hidden in the water. You mean hidden in the Flavor-Aid. For some reason I don't think that a bomb shelter would be of much use in the event that Armageddon actually transpires.

CommanderQ
Let's all reserve a room in the "vault," eh, heh. Yeah, this slightly reminds me of those movies and games...it's just that their belief of the end is a tad off...

God replies, "You're all over the physical age to repopulate the species. What do you have to say for yourselfs." 10,000 voices reply, "D'oh!" Let's all reserve a room in the "vault," eh, heh. Yeah, this slightly reminds me of those movies and games...it's just that their belief of the end is a tad off...

CommanderQ
Yep, that it does, soon they'll probably be negotiating to build Nuke silos in their "Vault." *plays 1950s music* Sarcasm: Oh, it's just wonderful there!
