LukA_YJK
Got your message. AGP, unfortunately I could not complete figuring out the level data extracted from Rogue Squadron data file, neither I heard about somebody else did that. So it seems that you will need to do that almost from the scratch. But I was going to put a call for programmers at MODDB.COM to form a team. http://www.moddb.com/mods/star-wars-rogue-leader-3d/ Maybe this will help
AGP
Cool. In the meantime, you could help me find modelers who would be at least as useful by redoing everything (but better). My coding is really nearing completion as it is, and my game will be only too easy to mod (think Bridge Commander with a more popular file format!). E-mail me your address at bernardo@agpgames.com and I will send you a link if you're interested in seeing it (although a friend of mine reported getting some resistance from UAC which is disabled on my computers--Windows 7 can't get here soon enough!). Zeaband
well I can't get it working either way still AGP's other games are impressive. If I may change this topic to Lynk's comment, I still play N64 and PC rogue squadron at least once a month. If the Wii VC version came out that would be awesome, and if I win the lottery I would buy Factor 5 and have them finish Rogue Squadron 4 and port it to the pc with all 3 previous version to be remade in the same package. Or have I asked too much.....(Zeaband slowly steps away from his lab-top before he realizes this isn't the Role Playing forum....)

LukA_YJK
The petition asking LucasArts and Factor 5 to make the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3D level editor available to the fan community has been started in March. More than 100 people, mostly expressing their interest in being involved in developing new levels, signed it. There were a former Rogue Squadron development team member and an author of a sci-fi book, many enthusiastic gamers, experienced modders and computer science students. Unfortunately after sending emails to LucasArts and former Factor 5 management twice we did not get any response. Still determined to continue with the petition, it seems that we will not be able to get the level editor soon. So here is a call for joining forces to develop Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3D Editor, call for forming the Team to all interested modders, amateur level designers, computer science students and everybody who can contribute. If you are interested in taking this challenge please post a comment. Let us do it ourselves! LukA_YJK
Thanks to everybody for supporting the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3D Editor Request petition. We have got 113 signatures already. If you want to further support our petition please place the image above (http://media.moddb.com/images/articles/1/43/42680/petition-luke-300x300.jpg) at your website and link it to http://www.petitiononline.com/swrs3d/ Another new is that recently I was in contact with a game developer from White Harvest regarding our Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3D Editor Request petition. Here is what that person said about Rogue Squadron: "...LucasArts owns all rights, assets and tools to all Rogue Squadron games, and are the only ones who can authorize this. I'm glad that you're still enjoying the old Rogue Squadron,... but I doubt that anybody will ever release the tools. It's actually quite a bit of work, and the interest isn't big enough (not unless the number of petitioners reaches 5 or 6 digits). Regardless, the request would most likely have to go through LEC." LukA_YJK
Rogues, now we are team of two - and the new guy is figuring out the level data already. Check out the progress so far: http://satd.sk/web/rs/# Lynk, please talk to the elders of the internet, so they would give us access to roguesquadron.net - it is long dead now - I want to move all information and downloads away from my good old http://rogue.squadron.tripod.com/ site and update it with the new discoveries. What do you think?

Lynk Former
As good of an idea as this seems, it really isn't because the LFN sites/domains aren't very stable at the moment. We just recently lost the xwingalliance.net domain because the owners apparently either forgot to renew it or just didn't want to. Either way, if you're looking for a safe place to put all of your content, unfortunately, this is not the place. The unfortunate truth is that this place is going to end up dying sooner than later, mostly because there's not enough people to manage it and not enough money to keep it running.
