Which column do I not edit if I want the armor to appear but the no-armor appearance to stay the new one, but the rest of the appearances to be the default game models and textures?

 

Keep columns modela, texa and texaevil to keep the mod's underwear for Mara, edit from modelb to texj columns copying the values from other females rows, for example from a caucasian female (row 124, P_FEM_C_SML_02).

 

that should do it :)

Got it to work, thanks for the help!

A suggestion to the author: I would make the DS skin more pale and less bronzy, and make the pupils more distinct from the cornea. And also, fix all the file names. Otherwise, very nice, thanks for sharing!

 

Edit: Okay, I wasn't completely successful. All classes wear the soldier clothing model/textures for the clothing armor. What did I do wrong?

Hey GeorgNihilus, thanks for doing my job and answering people while I was away. I appreciate it!

To all the people who have problems, I'm back home now so I'll get right to work on fixing all my silly mistakes and reupload it.

@ GlowingFauxPas - PM me and I'll get you some non-Emperor portraits, and thanks for the suggestions.

 

Edit: Hey, to someone who is having issues with the DS transitions:

If the renaming of the files worked please let me know. I need to know if I need to change something in the TSLPatcher as well or if it was just my typos on the file names.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience, but I don't have time to run through a DS campaign right now to check. I'm really hoping that all I have to do is change some file names! It's been so long since I've used TSLPatcher, I don't even know if I remember the little I used to know! ;)

if you add EnableCheats=1 under the game options in swkotor.ini, you can cchange your character's alignment by typing adddarkside or addlightside and then a space and then a number from 1-100.

She looks great, I love Revan with red hair.

 

Before I install I wanted to ask if this will replace any of the heads or if it's a new head and If I will still be able to get her to wear Revan's robes and the cool robes that come with Brotherhood of Shadow.

 

I was looking at you DA page and I thought you said she can only wear her pretty blue jumpsuit.

That's easy. Open appearance.2da file, check for the BoS SR row label that corresponds to that mod, if u want Matilda's robes maybe Party_NPC_Matilda label (that in 1st BoS, but I don't have installed already the 2nd BoS), start looking row higher than 500 for sure. Or find Red Hawke's robes row, don't have that mod either ... :raise:

 

Once located, backup appearance.2da file first just in case. Then copy modela, texa, texaevil, modelb and texb columns of the chosen robe/s over Mara's row columns, which is over 500 too obviously. This will modify only underwear and basic clothes.

 

For this to work naturally all the textures (tga), models (mdx/mdl) and txi files (if necessary) must already be installed in Override folder.

I realize that GeorgNihlus has already helped you out (another shout out to the man!), but just in case it's to confusing for either yourself or anyone else (or if you're just too lazy to edit the .2da file) I will be releasing another version that will have a side install for those who want to keep the robes and other costumes...armor, whatever. It will take a little time to get it out (hopefully I'll have it by the end of the weekend), but I truly truly mean that I'll be working on it this time! ;)

Groovalicious! I do so hope your friggin' computer will be able to play KOTOR again. After all, a computer that doesn't play KOTOR, is nary a computer at all.

 

Also in this issue: Hey plebs! Be sure to check back up at the top, because the new links have the working DS transitions now...at least they work on my computer!

 

Unfortunately, whatever I'm doing is not allowing me to change the 2da robes/armor thingy-ma-hoob. But that's okay! After looking over this version of Mara, I decided that I'm not a fan anymore. I'm going to remake her...bigger, faster, stronger, so instead of wasting time figuring out what I did wrong, I'm going to waste time starting from scratch! I hope to talk to y'all soon. If not, then you'll just have to wait...just like I'm still waiting for the next issue of Battle Chasers.

Thank you very much! And I do plan on a TSL release, but not necessarily very soon. I haven't actually done a TSL mod yet so I don't know the differences between the two games. However, if you want to at least start just simple changes you can go here http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=195966. It's my first mod but it has a tutorial (also my first and only, so far) included in the zip on how to make new heads. It's very basic but it's where I started at, so maybe it will help you start as well! In the future maybe I'll do a tutorial on how to do a whole new character from start to finish like Mara here. Be sure to check back and see if I release a TSL version, but also send me a link if you get a mod out there as well. I'd love to see it. (If you don't have any experience with any modding tools go to http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=143421 to find out how and where to start)

And one of the most important tips I can give you on modding (or any project, really) is this: Stay Organized! I have a zillion folders and sub folders for my Juhani mod and v1 of Mara. Mara 2.0 I have one main folder, a folder for all the original files that were extracted with KOTOR TOOL and then the final zip folder. It made things work much smoother and quicker.

Looks like it is a head addon. Could you replace an existing head for me? It makes it more compatable to other types of mods ;)

If I'm not mistaken all you would have to do is copy the .mdl and .mdx files, rename them to the desired head and it should work. I haven't tried this so don't shoot me if it doesn't work out. ;)

Hey thanks. I found out recently that geometry can be added to bodies so I've already modeled a new less sucky version of Mara's outfit. When redrob41 has time he'll try and work on the texture (seeing as I suck at them). That could be awhile since he's working on the Revenge of Revan mod as well as a couple more projects he and I are working on together. And who knows, maybe I'll find a way to texture it that doesn't make it look like I vomited all over it. :D

I was able to get Jade Mara working in TSL well it's very close, at least until miro42 the upgrade to TSL. ;)

 

Since I've never used any modeling tools, took the skin and portrait files then renamed them with another mdl and mdx from another mod, the skins and portraits worked. Well her hair isn't as long as intended and not the same style, it's the same as one of the vanilla styles.

The screenie looks great Acleacius, so you renamed other mod mdl/mdx right? which one? have you tried with new model names?

This method is very crude since I don't have modeling skillz, but it looks nice enough to use.

 

Yes, took the mdl and mdx from a mod called Slender Bodies for Females. It's was the only Redhead model, last time I played, about 5 years ago iirc. It does replace an existing head, "pfhc07.mdl" and "pfhc07.mdx", then renamed miro42's .tga files to PFHC07.

 

I had the installer "change.ini" all edited and working for TSL to make this an independent head as miro42 had done originally. But those pesky KotOR mdl and mdx files wouldn't work.
