"Provide cover fire while we escape. My method of attack requres me to be up-close to my foe to strike."

 

"Yeah I can do that, I'll make sure not to get too carried away with these swords on my back as well."

 

Deathblade followed the woman until she stopped suddenly. He looked over and noticed three soldiers talking about a captive named Shade. He looked down at the woman and then back to the soldiers. Well at least he knew the woman's name now.

 

"We need to speed up our escape, Zeron is here."

 

He nodded in approval and allowed a smile to form under his mask. He reached into his belt and pulled out two smoke bombs.

 

"That means I get to do this my way if you want to get out of here quicker."

 

He tossed the two small bombs at the three soldiers and waited until they exploded. Gas quickly formed in the hallway, and Deathblade made his move. He ran at the three men and pulled a katana out. He slashed vertically downwards at the first shadow he saw. He turned his head and stepped forward with his right foot before swinging at the second shadow. He turned the handle around and stabbed at the shadow behind him. He wiped the blood from his katana and walked back over to Shade.

 

"And people told me red was a bad color choice for my costume."

" Dementix" Dementix answered.

" We can expect lots of resistance, what you got for weapons?" Dementix asked BlackHawk. Dementix loaded his Sterling SMG, and his mace was taken off the laniard that held it.

War-Bringer walked along the silos and nuclear reactors that lined the sides of the sub. He at first objected to the idea of having the missiles so close to the reactors, but for this situation it worked perfectly.

 

Krahl and a few men were not far behind.

 

"Sir...we've checked the timers on all fo the missiles. We've set them for 1 hour detonation. We've also set the controls for a dive deep into the lake. Every water-production facility set on the lakes will be contaminated within a day. Also, evacuation is almost ready."

 

War-Bringer nodded, "Excellent work, Captain. We will need to move fast in order for this to work. Launch the evac subs in groups every 10 minutes. Begin leaking the reactors as well. Our super-hero friends will not enjoy the radiation."

 

Krahl nodded, "Yessir. Right away."

 

With that he left War-Bringer to the silos.

 

He was examing a control panel on one of the reactors. He punched in a command and activated it. He then also yanked out the cord that controlled the reactor levels, this would allow the reactor pressure to reach dangerous levels, and it couldn't be stopped. This leak would make Chernobyl look like a minor event.

 

War-Bringer smiled and left the reactor to it's iminent doom.

"Nothing so conventional. I've designed my suit so any part of it can be electrified without hurting me, and that includes the wrist-mounted grappling hooks. Makes a good stun gun. The shock isn't fatal, but it will leave most twitching on the floor for quite a while." Blackhawk explained. "We need to get moving. War-Bringer doesn't wait for us to stop him. I simply got lucky when I dealt with him back in Toronto.

" Alright, lets head out." Dementix answered. They ran down the halls, looking for the enemy.

' You know, I wish they would post some conveniant map on the wall, oyu know, something with a big red X saying ' the fight is here' or soemthing" Dementix said when he was convinced they were lost.

[Chevron 7 locke]

"And people told me red was a bad color choice for my costume."

 

"It is."

 

Shade leaned carefully around the corner to see if they were being followed breathed a sigh of relief.

 

Shade took a quick glance at Deathblade's facial expression.

 

"The coast is clear. And the ladder seems clear as well."

 

Shade began to quietly climb up the ladder that led out of the sub and looked around. The deck was devoid of human personal.

 

"It looks like we're homefree...if we can somehow get out of here.

 

As if reading her mind, Shade's communicator went off.

 

"Miss Shade? Miss Shade are you there? Miss Shade please respond."

 

I thought they killed her!

 

"Pilot! It's good to hear your voice. I thought they shot you down."

 

"Negative Miss. They chased me into a storm, after leaving I was able to get ahold of the Kyoto authorites. I'm currently two miles outbound of your position with two B-52s."

 

This can work.

 

"Pilot, land the plane next to the sub and prepare to pick us up.Tell the B-52's to target all fighter craft within the area. Zeron's forces are here, and they managed to wipe out the fighters sent after them."

 

"Yes Miss Shade."

 

Shade shut off the communicator and smiled at Deathblade under her mask.

 

"It looks like we'll be getting out of here alive after all."
