Sith'ari Darth Bane
I just downloaded this ebook> http://www.starwars.com/vault/books/losttribe01.html I downloaded the PDF version and after saving it to my hard drive, my anti-virus is detecting it as a HEUR/HTML.Malware. The virus report shows that it was previously detected as HEUR/Exploit.HTML On the anti-virus pop up I just selected the ignore option but this warning keeps popping up every time I try to open the file. What should I do? I am running on XP and my anti-virus is Avira.
Ray Jones
I suggest not to ignore virus warnings, I mean why would you have anti virus software installed, if not to give you warnings and stuff?
acdcfanbill
well my virus scanner said that pdf is clean and i uploaded it to http://virusscan.jotti.org/en and none of those found a virus, so either your scanner is giving you a false positive, or you already have something that is infecting pdf files or your browser. Sith'ari Darth Bane
Well I'm deleting the file. I'll have to scan my computer and see what I get. Thanks for the help!
Q
Another Avira user! Depending on your heuristics level, Avira might be giving you a false positive. I have mine set on high, and I get false positives very rarely. I think that it's a small price to pay for the level of protection that Avira provides.
