Magical Strike Force S

The wall ahead of them began to crumple, and a large figure stepped through the wreckage. It resembled a large lizard, standing on its hind legs. It was about twice the size of two men, and had mechanised pumping cylinders running across its spine. Like a cybernetic Wyveen, without wings.

 

"Looks like one of the experiments in this underground facility got loose..." Wolf muttered. "Lets finish this quickly!"

 

He activated his device. His armor began to shift mechanically, untill he was in his Dark Valefor form. His large Revolver turned into the signature Gunblade-like weapon.

 

He leaped towards the monster and began jumping from limb-to-limb, swiping his blade across the thick muscle of the monster. He leaped up into the air and fired as many bullets as he could whilst in mid air.

[Ping]

Ming's eyes widened in surprise at the sight of the lizard-like thing. He had seen quite alot of things before, but this giant lizard sure topped it. Out of the corner of his eye, Ming saw Wolf leap toward the lizard and attack it. While Wolf lept in mid-air, Ming threw the ball of light he had been forming in his hand towards the lizard, emptied his revolver at it, and then activated his device.

 

"Evening star, activate"

 

A faint, golden light began to surround Ming as his device activated. He then reloaded his revolver, slid under the lizard's legs, and began to shoot at its backside.

Hank heard a woman's voice inside of his head but he didn't know who it was or how she got in his head...but he liked it. As he regained control of his head, his eyes caught hold of Wolf. His revolver turned into a some odd bladed gun and he was destroying the lizard creature. He then turned to see Ming, and lucky for him he had goggles on or else he would have went blind from the brightness of the glow. He looked down at the grenade in his hand and than smiled as he looked up the lizard again. He looked over to Akira before taking off.

 

"You might want an umbrella."

 

Hank ran at the lizard and jumped onto its back. He leaped towards the neck and held onto it with his arms and legs. He reached out with one hand and grabbed at the beast's nostrils. He gave them a hard tug and began to pull the lizard's head back. He took the pin off the grenade and shoved it into the its mouth, doing his best to avoid the teeth. Now with both hands He pulled the lizard's head back in an attempt to make it swallow the grenade. He was thrown to the side and hit the wall. Hank quickly jumped away from the beast.

 

"I'd move if I were you both, ol bad breath over there is about to get a real bad case of indigestion."

The monster moved swiftly, but Akira moved faster, reaching cover and plotting a firing solution, almost completely on instinct. Adrenaline pumped through his vains, he wasn't the awkward 17-year-old at that moment, but the soldier that Yamamoto had trained him to be.

 

"You might want an umbrella."

 

Akira chuckled, "Heh, a comedian."

 

He lifted his rifle skyward, so as not to fire at Hank as he tried to stuff the grenade down the lizard's throat.

 

"I'd move if I were you both, ol bad breath over there is about to get a real bad case of indigestion."

 

Akira nodded, and almost gave the sarcastic remark 'no joke,' but he decided not to, out of self-control.

 

He kneeled, putting his arm over his head and ducking.

 

Then he heard the deafening boom of the grenade and felt a shockwave shake him and his cover. When he opened his eyes to view the situation, he saw that all the ground around him was covered in a bluish-green slime.

Wolf landed on the floor, as soon as Hank stuffed the grenade into the distracted beasts in its mouth.

 

A few seconds later, the beasts stomach glew with a light. The beast blew into several pieces all over the lobby. The bluish-green slime splattered onto the floor began to sizzle and burn.

 

"Acidic Blood?" Wolf thought. He deactivated his device and transformed back into his original form. He walked to the large platform of the elevator and hit the switch.

 

"Hurry up, we havent got all day!" he barked.

[Ping]

Ming saw Hank through a grenade toward the lizard.

 

"You might want an umbrella"

 

Oh great, thought Ming. I hope that thing doesn't blow up near me.

 

"I'd move if I were you both, ol bad breath over there is about to get a real bad case of indigestion"

 

Ming, upon hearing this, deactivated his form, and barely had time to summon a wall of light to surround himself for protection. Wouldn't do much to run, Ming thought. I'm not fast, and the explosion would probably hit my backside. When the lizard exploded, Ming was surprised to see slime spray everywhere. He had originally thought the explosion would be much more bigger and bloodier.

 

"Hurry up, we havent got all day!"

 

"Don't need to tell me twice," Ming said, as he deactivated his slime-covered light wall and ran towards the elevator.

Hank jumped for joy when the lizard's guts went everywhere. He looked like he was a small child enjoying a television show. Of course he had to cover his head and hide behind cover, but he was still way too happy. He took a look around and smiled at the carnage he had caused.

 

"Somebody tell the Ground Forces I quit, I think I'm gonna be a painter!"

 

"Hurry up, we havent got all day!"

 

"But I wanna sign my work first!...okay I'm coming."

 

Hank ran to the elevator and stepped inside. He looked around at the elevator and gave a slight chuckle.

 

"I wonder if there will be any giant birds waiting for us when we reach the top."

Hizuni landed directly next to the healing tank after watching the last of the drones in the area get destroyed.

 

Onii-san looks so...different when in the medical tank. He actually looks like he's at peace with himself and everything around him.

 

She then turned around and smiled slightly to herself as she saw Shana staring directly at Kai.

 

Hizuni gently put one hand on Shana's shoulder and tried to pull her away from him.

 

"Staring at him isn't going to help him. You should rest now, you've been through quite a bit in the past few days from what I've been told."

The Elevator continued to fly upwards to the surface. Wolf waited patiently. He sighed.

 

"I wish these people would stop dividing us into teams. We would be able to get the job done effeciently if we all work together..."

 

The elevator made a stop when it reached the ground-floor level (aka, the technicians garage). He exited the garage with the group and made there way back into the lobby. They walked out the door and back into the industialised scape, where they saw the ship ahead and Juno walking towards them.

 

"We should really discuss about "team efficiency"" Wolf said, as he walked past her and back to the ship. "Mind telling us whats happened?"

[Shana]

"How about discussing efficiency overall? You guys sure took your sweet time", Juno said as she looked at all of them get on the transport. She then did so herself.

 

"Mind telling us whats happened?"

 

"From what we gathered from one of the scientists in there, the enemy stole a high grade unison material designed to boost the linker core's capabilities of a person exponentialy. In other words, multiplying their power to incredible levels", Juno replied.

 

"We really need to get some intelligence work done, this has gone far enough. We need to search the database for any information on those people. Find out who they're related to and see if we can find the one responsible for pulling the strings", Illya said.

 

At that moment Pandora stood up from Shana's shoulder and floted around them.

 

"The man responsible is Doctor Hyman", Pandora said. At the mention of his name some of the other crew members, more specifically the medical aidees gasped. Asuza brought her hand to her face and frowned.

 

"If that's the case, we're in real trouble", Asuza said. "Doctor Hyman was banished from the FTSS for doing forbidden research. He was altering DNA to create soldiers infused with artificial magic through using the ancient artifacts. That's how he powers his creations. A few years ago one of them went berserk and killed an entire colony of settlers. Doctor Hyman faced court martial but he never was tried for it, his ship was supposedly lost when the Halgari Tribe invaded the Galgan System. Now it seems he's back", Asuza said sighing at the end.

 

"He wants to bring to life the greatest creation he has ever done", Pandora said.

 

Commander Carrington walked over to her and crossed her arms.

 

"And what is his greatest creation?", Terra asked.

 

"The warrior he called Z, Zeus", Pandora said.

 

"So he named it after the greek god", Terra said and Pandora nodded. "How powerful is he? How much damage are we talking about if he awakens?"

 

Pandora shruged.

 

"If everything goes according to Doctor Hyman's plan... we're talking about the end of the FTSS. Nothing would be able to stop it, not even all of us combined", Pandora said.

Ming felt his heart sink at these words.

 

"So, you're saying that we're nothing compared to this Zeus thing? If he can wipe out a colony, then I can't even imagine what else he could possibly do." Ming then realized that he hadn't introduced himself.

 

"By the way, I'm Xi Ming. Joined up with these guys back down in that lab or whatever it was. Who are you guys?"

"How about discussing efficiency overall? You guys sure took your sweet time"

 

Hank elbowed Akira in the ribs and spoke when the woman walked ahead.

 

"Somebody sounds a little up tight, but not a bad looker."

 

He followed the group into the transport and looked around. Almost the entire crew were women. He was very glad he decided to check out the labs. They all began talking about some doctor or something and Hank lost intrest. He began looking around at all the women in the transport.

 

Let's see here...That one's too young, is that one an older sister? They look the same, eh maybe. There's that one girl again, that one next to her looks to dark for me...is that a puppet? Wait...is that puppet talking on its own? Freaky! What was I doing again...

 

"So, you're saying that we're nothing compared to this Zeus thing? If he can wipe out a colony, then I can't even imagine what else he could possibly do."

 

Hank snaped out of his train of thought and looked around at the group.

 

"Aw come on now Ming, this Zess thing doesn't sound too scary. Its either we pass or we fail, and I don't fail. Besides the bigger something is, the more bullets I get to put into it!"

 

"By the way, I'm Xi Ming. Joined up with these guys back down in that lab or whatever it was. Who are you guys?"

 

"Good call Ming. I'm Hank Coleman, Special Forces. Hank's just fine. I saved these guys back at the labs, and I'm guessing you're all angels." He said in his usual cocky attitude.

"Somebody sounds a little up tight, but not a bad looker."

 

Akira didn't really react much to the elbow jab or the statement. You didn't really talk about commanding officers in that way, but Akira guessed Hank to be right, the Captain was actually quite attractive.

 

Suddenly he heard someone calling his name and he turned to see who it was.

 

To his surprise, it was Sergeant Yamamoto, all smiles in a black field uniform.

 

"Ah! Akira! You just got back, took bloody long enough. What did I say about long missions?"

 

Akira gave a quick salute and bow to his mentor, "You said that long missions diminish strength, initiative, and therefore the chances of victory are smaller."

 

The Sergeant nodded, "Well, good that you remembered, but you guys are back, and in one piece, so I'll allow this to pass."

 

He chuckled, "Anyway, I just got assigned as a support operative, so I'll be collecting information for the strike force's missions. And by the way, I think we just found some good information, your commanding officer is sharing it right now, so let's get over there."

 

Akira nodded and followed Yamamoto, who led him to where the others were gathering. They heard the short announcement on this "Zeus" weapon.

 

"If everything goes according to Doctor Hyman's plan... we're talking about the end of the FTSS. Nothing would be able to stop it, not even all of us combined."

 

Akira took a step forward, "Then what can we do against this? Hyman's plan cannot possibly be that far advanced already?"

"Aw come on now Ming, this Zess thing doesn't sound too scary. Its either we pass or we fail, and I don't fail. Besides the bigger something is, the more bullets I get to put into it!"

 

"Size has nothing to do with it..." Wolf leaned against the wall, with his arms crossed. "Dont underestimate something you've never faced off before."

"Its obvious, isnt it?" Wolf stepped forward. "If we cant stop Zeus, then we have to prevent it from awakening!"

 

He turned to face Pandora. "We eliminate Doctor Hyman! He's the only one who knows how to activate Zeus, correct?"

"Size has nothing to do with it..." Wolf leaned against the wall, with his arms crossed. "Dont underestimate something you've never faced off before."

 

"You know if I didn't respect you so much Tex, I'd probably hate you for because you were the opposite of me."

 

"We eliminate Doctor Hyman! He's the only one who knows how to activate Zeus, correct?"

 

Hank jumped up for the walk with joy.

 

"Hell yeah! That's what I'm talking about. Let's get this show on the road!"

[Shana]

"Good call Ming. I'm Hank Coleman, Special Forces. Hank's just fine. I saved these guys back at the labs, and I'm guessing you're all angels."

 

Juno and Illya both looked at each other and rolled their eyes.

 

"We're Division 9's Elite Strike Force Unit. Our duty is the safeguarding of all ancient magical artifacts and the prevension of their use by hostile organizations both foreign and domestic", Commander Terranova answered. "And I'm the commanding officer of this unit, Commander Terra Carrington. These are Captains Aiko and Terranova. And our head physician and healer Asuza".

 

"Then what can we do against this? Hyman's plan cannot possibly be that far advanced already?"

 

"In order to power up Zeus, he needs to finish his research and awaken project Q, R, T, U, V, W, X, Y. You've already faced Shevlan, project S, Alyssa also known as Project A, and Kreik, aka project K", Pandora said. "Obviously, I'm project P. But I was not developed by Doctor Hyman, he stole me from the facility that genetically engineered me. I had a master, she was a kind woman, a knight of the Federation, she was killed and Doctor Hyman promised me revenge, but as I took over Shana, I realized how I was wrong, and she wouldn't have wanted me to carry revenge like this. I will find the one who killed my master and bring them to justice".

 

"We eliminate Doctor Hyman! He's the only one who knows how to activate Zeus, correct?"

 

"Indeed, the best course of action would be to eliminate or aprehend him. But his base remains mobile. The only thing left we have is to await another attack and aprehend one of the projects ourselves", Pandora said and looked at everyone. "I realize it is a gamble but the other projects as powerful as they are, are nothing compared to Z if it is awakened. None of us have ever seen Z".

[CommanderQ]

"Indeed, the best course of action would be to eliminate or aprehend him. But his base remains mobile. The only thing left we have is to await another attack and aprehend one of the projects ourselves. I realize it is a gamble but the other projects as powerful as they are, are nothing compared to Z if it is awakened. None of us have ever seen Z".

 

Sergeant Yamamoto took a step forward.

 

"We'll need intel to go about this properly...and you, Project P, if you don't mind me calling you that, were probably the last in contact if I assume correctly. Do you know of any leads that will help?"

 

Akira smiled and chuckled a little. That was Sergeant Yamamoto all the way, straight to the point, completely serious while on business. He crossed his arms and awaited the response from Project P or their commanding officers.

Kai's eyes slowly began to open as his body began to reach levels where it could keep him awake for longer periods of time.

 

It doesn't hurt as much as last time. I guess they threw me into a healing tank. Figures.

 

Kai didn't notice the eyes until he began to knock on the tank, letting the others outside know that he wanted someone to get him out of the tank.

 

Those eyes...who's staring at m- Oh...it's Shana.

 

Kai lifted his head slightly and smiled weakly at her before continuing to knock on the inside of the tank.

Ming rolled his eyes at this comment. "You may not fail now, but there's always a first time for everything. Besides, that thing could probably shrug off every bullet in the entire universe."

Do people have no creatvity? Ming thought as Pandora listed off the projects.

"We could apprehend him," said Ming, leaning against the wall and putting his hands behind his head. "But what's to stop him from breaking out of prison? The way I see it, we can either find and apprehend him, find his projects and destroy them before they're activated, or split up into teams and find this Hyman and his projects simultaneously." Then Ming heard a quiet tapping sound. "Okay, where's that tapping sound coming from?"

This time, Akira took a step forward.

This wasn't something Akira would normally say, and he didn't like sounding cold like this. But this 'Zeus' seemed extremely dangerous, and it seemed that if they didn't solve the problem, then millions could perish. It was better that these Projects die instead of the whole of the FTSS.

 

Yamamoto merely nodded to Akira, perhaps in agreement.

Shana saw that Kai had woken up again and seeing his smile she smiled back at him and turned to look at Asuza who had turned to look at the tank as she heard the knocking. She went to the status indicator and gave Shana a grin and nodded to her. At that moment Shana pressed the release button and the healing liquid drained. After a short moment the healing tank opened.

 

"Just take it easy Kai ok?", Asuza told him.

 

Shana continued to smile at him a single tear running down her cheek.

 

"Baka!", Shana said to him. "Don't scare me so much".

Commander Carrington sighed at shook her head.

 

"You people speak too easily about eliminating and destroying, don't forget these are people you're talking about, genetically designed by a madman, but still they are people. If we just go around ignoring the red tape, we're not any different than the enemy. We aprehend, only kill if absolutely necesary not the other way around. We're soldiers, not assassins", Terra said and paced around the room.

 

Pandora looked over at Ming and quickly dismissed his idea about aprehending him instead of the projects with a simply fact.

 

"Doctor Hyman never leaves the base, all his projects are dispatched to do the field work, you will never find him in the battle. He's a man without any care of anything other than himself, even if we were to threaten him with killing his projects, he wouldn't care. Because he only cares about the results during the activation, once it's completed they become regular foot soldiers to him. Completely expendable assets", Pandora said. "But if we can capture Kreik or Alyssa, the two of them are the closest pointmen he's got, they must surely know where and how to contact Hyman".

Hank looked over at Juno and Illya and smiled underneath his mask.

 

 

"You may not fail now, but there's always a first time for everything. Besides, that thing could probably shrug off every bullet in the entire universe."

 

"So I want use bullets, just some magic and my fists."

 

"But if we can capture Kreik or Alyssa, the two of them are the closest pointmen he's got, they must surely know where and how to contact Hyman".

 

"So what are we waiting for? Let's go find the these alphabet gang members. We've come up with the best plan were gonna come up with already, so let's get to work. I mean I'm all up for getting to know you ladies better," Hank said looking at both Juno and Illya seeing if either of them would react,"but I'm pretty sure we need to stop this Hyman guy asap."

[CommanderQ]

"You people speak too easily about eliminating and destroying, don't forget these are people you're talking about, genetically designed by a madman, but still they are people. Akira wasn't entirely surprised by Commander Carrington's response, no one liked mass-killings.

 

"I understand, Commander, they may still be people, but how do we know they'd allow themselves to be taken? Or maybe their genetics won't allow these other projects to cooperate? We don't know them, they're extremely dangerous, that much we do know. We'd want to handle this problem with Hyman once and for all, instead of just 1 generation, and then letting the next one worry about it. I don't mean to question your command, but Zeus would need to be stopped at ALL costs, if what we know is true."

 

The young soldier hoped his explanation wouldn't result in a court martial, because it did border on insurbordination. But it seemed an issue he needed to push forward.
